Southport Contemporary Arts network,
Our small friendly classes cater for beginners, improvers and experienced
creatives

Join in, have fun, make friends and learn new skills
Weekday 2hr Classes- 10 per class
[ Thurs. Knitting & Crotchet - 5.00, & Weds. Young Creatives - 7.50 ]
Creative Specials
Crafternoon Tea - 3 hour workshops- 20 per class Creative
Creative Days - 5 hour ( inc lunch break) - 40
We supply all the materials you need to get you started

Gift vouchers for all of our workshops are available, either for
yourself or as a special gift

Although this is a general art class, this is a great opportunity to come and spend some
time perfecting your illustration and oil painting techniques under Angelas expert tuition

Young Creatives Club Wednesdays

4.30pm till 6.30pm

Led by Norrie Beswick-Calvert

For those creative youngsters who are really keen to develop their skills. We will be
working on a range of projects including, drawing, painting, printing and 3d and having lots
of creative fun

Knitting & Crochet

Thursdays

10am till 12 noon

Imp/Adv

Led by - Anne Burman

You can knit & crochet well, but want a challenge? - This group is for you! Theres always
something new to inspire and intrigue you.

Creative Textiles
Led by Jo Landy

Thursdays

1pm till 3pm

All levels

Booking essential

From a textile designers perspective, Jo will cover many new and exciting textile techniques
as well as more established skills such as simple printing, applique and the use of heat
tools, to help you create surfaces for stitch. You will learn to use a sewing machine creatively
and as a drawing tool.

Mixed media drawing & painting Fridays

10am till 12 noon

Led by Norrie Beswick-Calvert Booking essential

Whether youve had a little practice or not drawn or painted since you were a child, this
relaxed experimental class, will give you the skills & confidence to explore your creativity in
many different media. Explore pencil, charcoal, oil & soft pastels, pen & ink, acrylics, silk
paints and more

CREATIVE SPECIALS
Include Tea and Cake and are suitable for all abilities
Saturday 16th April 1pm-4pm Crafternoon Tea
led by Celia Elliott-Minty
Starting Japanese Braiding
Learn the basics of Kumihimo (Japanese braiding) using
threads and a foam disc. You will make some samples and a
simple bracelet.

Saturday 23rd April 1pm - 4pm - Crafternoon Tea

Fabric and stitch bowls
Come and gain confidence with your machine sewing whilst
making a stunning textile bowl. Using basic sewing
techniques and combining a variety of fabrics, you will be
going home with a bowl that can be put to all sorts of uses.

Please note that Southport Contemporary Arts reserve the right to cancel the class 1
week prior to the class date if there are fewer than 3 people booked onto it
All deposits paid will be reimbursed should this happen.

As part of this years Arts Trail weve got lots of demonstrations

Southport Contemporary Arts (SCA)
SCA is a non-profit social enterprise, membership organisation.
A network of creative people and projects here at ArtHouse and out in the wider community
We work with a variety of other organisations as well as independently, in order to
create more opportunities and a stronger voice for the creative community around us.
The ArtHouse hub houses a showcase and sales Gallery, our Classes Workshop and
Studios workspaces, available for hire.
