How to Start:
1. Working individually. Look through 4-3 in the book and/or use the internet to find biome or
ecosystem resources. You will have very LIMITED class time for this.
2. Look at the list of tasks that you have to get done before your biome is done. Choose a place to start
and look through your past notes and research as this will help you.
3. Plan your biome out on paper:
a. What abiotic factors are present in your ecosystem?
b. Which biotic factors are present?
c. What are some organisms that undergo predation, competition, and the three kinds of
symbiosis?
4. Brainstorm ways to visually show your factors.
a. Which biotic factors occupy which niches?
b. How can you show your biotic factor occupying a niche and also interacting with another
species?
5. Get together a list of materials that you will need to construct your biome. I have some supplies, but
you may want to bring things from home.
6. Plan a time to MAKE the biome. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
7. On Monday Nov 7th*: bring the box, the description of the niches taped to the outside or displayed
somehow, and this score sheet with your name on it.
* If you are presenting via video- then you must provide the link or flash drive on Monday
the 7th with your project.
8. Rehearse what you are going to say so you do not stumble when you present. Also, learn how to say
any confusing or big words before you are standing in front of the class.
9. There is no minimum time requirement for presentations but everything must be addressed and
you must not exceed 5 min. Presentations done IN CLASS will be on Monday Nov 7th (or Friday Nov
4th for extra credit). All other projects will be presented from a video source starting Tuesday Nov
8.
Your project and presentation is Due Monday Nov 7th.
