PROJECT DESCRIPTION

INTRODUCTION/SUMMARY (prepared by Olivia)

As the workloads from both our cases with the firm and our college courses
continue to increase, it is essential to find new ways to help balance those
workloads. We have come up with a plan which includes the procurement of
watches and hiring of additional interns. Not only would this help lessen the load for
the current interns, but it would also increase the productivity of the firm as a
whole.

RATIONALE AND SIGNIFICANCE (prepared by Olivia)

An overload of work between the firm and classes has caused the interns to fall
behind in both aspects. Doing well in our classes is vital to being knowledgeable
enough to win our cases. It is also important that we do well in our classes in order
to keep our positions in law school and remain eligible for the internship. By hiring
more interns to take on a portion of the workload and providing watches to help the
interns keep track of the days itinerary, the firm can help reduce the expected
workload down to a more manageable level. This will result in a higher success rate
as the interns are more prepared for and knowledgeable of their cases and of the
law and techniques taught in class that can be applied towards their cases.

PLAN OF THE WORK (prepared by Anthony)

This project would require fairly little man power, but a lot of paperwork and some
monitorial resources to provide us all with watches that can help us keep track of
what all the itinerary of the day holds. The plan reads as this:
1. Meeting as a whole firm to decide the best course of action, using this proposal as a

guide.
Select the most cost efficient option for watches.
Hire 2-4 new interns with untapped potential.
Interview potential hires through one-on-one meetings.
Each employee produces a set schedule that includes both their school and work

hours.
6. Finally, the scheduling is put into effect and then the firm can proceed productively
without stepping on anyones toes and making sure all interns are equal.
This plan is open to change, as well as, adjustments as is needed.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT (prepared by Anthony)

The facilities needed for this project are the Keating Attys at Law meeting room and
the building as a whole. No highly breakable or expensive equipment is required for
the work mentioned in this proposal.

Personnel (management proposal) (prepared by Fiacre)

Since we joined this law firm, we have been working tirelessly to be the best
lawyers for our clients. Aside from lawyers, we are also students and as students we
have other duties. That is why we are suggesting this proposal. This project will be
monitored by Laura, she has been with this law firm for more than ten years. Aside
from her experience with cases and making contracts with our clients, Laura is not a
student and has dealt with more cases than any of us, which means she knows the
amount of time needed for a case. Laura is usually introducing us to the cases,
which makes sense for her to lead this project. She will have full control of the
amount of cases and the amount of time needed for each case. As project manager
she can also appoint any one of the lawyers to help her.
BUDGET (prepared by Hassan)

What we are suggesting is actually going to be in favor of the companys

budget. By hiring new interns, we would have more time to focus in the
cases that we have and in our study. Therefore, this would be in a great
benefit for both the individuals and the company. All we are asking is a room
for the interns, which already exists in the company, and the basic salary for an
intern, which is $15 per hour.

CONCLUSION (prepared by Laura)

In conclusion, by including watches into the law training, the interns promise to
focus on our daily schedule and work more productively knowing time-management
is not an issue. Also, by hiring more aspiring lawyers, productivity will increase trifold since more people will be working on our cases. With a healthy balance
between class work and our internships, this will benefit you as a professor and

more interest would be drawn towards clients with our current history and
achievements. Our firm will only improve with better time-management and your
support matters the most.
