INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING

Students can use Jing to make video presentations for projects, either individually or as a group. The
teacher will use Jing to record demonstrations for using a form of technology that the students can follow
along with.

aligns to content standards

transforms a lesson in a way that
would be impossible or very
difficult without it; very likely to
increase student engagement and
contribute to mastery of the
concept(s)
optimal in a student-centered
environment where students are
active and engaged in learning
content

aligns to content standards

enhances a lesson; likely to
increase student
engagement and support
mastery of the concept(s)
will most likely be used by
the students directly

aligns to content standards

serves as a nice supplement to
a lesson but wouldnt necessarily
play a critical role within the
lesson
will most likely be used by the
teacher during a lesson (e.g., a
demonstration)

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Unlike with Prezi and Padlet, I would rate Jing a 3 because in technology-centered classes, screencasting
for demonstrations would be nearly impossible without it. A coding class or program development class
would absolutely need a screencasting program to watch demonstrations and follow along with the
teacher.
