The Text Says

Notes (key concepts, direct quotes, etc.)

I Say
My notes, commentary

p.22

"The goal is to spark interest, activate prior

knowledge, tap a wide range of
intelligence, and prepare students to tackle
new concepts."

p.23

"There is no single formula for a good

preview assignment."

p.24

"Predicting: To foreshadow an upcoming

lesson, student predict what, why, how, or
when certain events might have occurred."

The purpose of Preview assignment is so that

the students will have a chance to gather an
idea of what the next topic or content is going
to be about. It is more of a sense of
subconscious preparation essentially.
The whole Preview assignment idea does not
have a strict standards of how it is supposed to
be presented. Because of this, this allows a
large variety of creativity on the teacher's part
so that they have chance to reach all type of
learning styles for thier students.
This subconscious preparation is essentially
how this prediction ties into the Preview
assignments. When the students have heads up
or some type of idea of what their next lesson is
going to be about, chances are they will be
more prepared, understand, and grasp the
material a lot quicker.
