Course Objectives:
The course will introduce the perspectives of Regionalism and Multilateralism and improves the
understanding of regional integration through Regional Integration Agreements. The course
involves study of different regional organizations and the interface between regional integration
and Regional Trade Agreements (RTAs). The course is also aimed at discussing the advantages
of Regionalism vis a vis Multilateralism through a case study of India and its experience with
RTAs.
Pre-requisites: The course demands the basic knowledge of Public International law and
International Organizations.

Student Learning Outcomes: As a result of taking this course, the student will be able to
understand the advantages of Regionalism in the context of different Regional Trade
Agreements(RTAs) .To identify students ability to draw conclusions and demonstrate inferences
about free trade and regionalism.
Pedagogy for Course Delivery: The course will be delivered through lecture classes, round
table discussions and home assignments, presentations on different regional agreements and
regional organizations.
