7 Bollywood Films That Inspired Real-Life Crimes!

When we get to see some gripping real life incidents and cases on the
silver screen in the form of movies, we definitely get entertained. These
films are high on entertainment quotient and even though we know the
story, we stay excited to see it converted into a film. These films touch the
perfect chords, without over-dramatizing the reality.
While we told you about films that were inspired by real-life incidents, here
are 7 films that became a perfect inspiration for criminals to plot their
crimes. Yes, you read that right, these films became the perfect driving
force for criminals. Have a look!

1. When SRK's character of an obsessive stalker and lover in

Darr inspired one of the 5 kidnappers involved in Snapdeal
employee Dipti Sarna's abduction.
Snapdeal employee Dipti Sarna's abduction made everyone shudder. According to
latest

reports,

police arrested
5

people

today(Feb 15)
and one of the
accused
reportedly
followed

Dipti

around for over

a year after he
first saw her in a Metro. Ghaziabad SSP Dharmendra Singh said,It is just like a case
portrayed in Bollywood movie Darr where Shah Rukh Khan is involved in a one-sided
affair. The prime accused just like a psycho and lived in a virtual reality. The criminals
are hardcore. We are verifying whether the men are auto drivers or not." Some people
do take films seriously!

2. When Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Drishyam inspired a man in Bhopal

to murder and
hide the dead
body strategic
ally!
Drishyam was one
of the finest films of
2015.

With

intriguing

an
and

interesting plot, the

film served as an
inspiration

for

criminal to plot a
real

life

murder.

The victims body

was found floating in the citys Hathikeda Dam and rigorous investigations into the
incident began when Sumitra, the wife of the deceased, lodged a missing complaint with
the Ayodhya Nagar police on December 25, 2015. The main accused in the case,
Indrapal Singh and his nephew Dharmendra Singh took inspiration from Ajays role in
the film to dispose of the body.

3. When DDA officials took the 'plot' of Khosla Ka Ghosla

seriously and resold plots!
Khosla Ka Ghosla made a perfect ribtickling satirical comedy. Even though we
could relate and connect to Anupam
Khers character in the film, a few DDA
officials took the film way too seriously.
Taking inspiration from Kishen Khurana
(Boman Irani), DDA employees resold
plots by forging documents which led to

many feuds. Box-office collections and critics might have loved and
appreciated the film but when such instances happen, it turns into a
nightmare for both police and the system.
4. When Dhoom increased the number of petty street crimes like
chain snatching and robbery. All thanks to engines of 150-200cc bikes
that were criminals hot favorites!

We all hooted and whistled for John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchans
stunts inDhoom but for some, it turned out to be a nightmare. In Keralas
Malappuram district, a gang of four robbers dug a hole in the floor of Bank
of Kerala during the morning hours of 30th December 2007 and stole 80
kgs gold and 50,00,000 rupees. Later, the gang confessed that it was
Dhoom that inspired them to commit the crime! Ah.

5. When Akshay Kumar's Special 26 inspired more than 16 real

life robbery cases
Even though Special 26 itself was based on a true-life incident, this Akshay
Kumar, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpai and Jimmy Shergill starrer inspired a
bunch of criminals. Funny, isnt it? In June 2013, a group of 8 men posed
as Income Tax officers and entered a businessman Jayanthibhai Sarvaiyas

home and robbed valuables and cash. They walked in at his Kandivli
business residence on the pretext of carrying out a raid. They got away
with cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 12 lakhs. To make the victim
Jayanthibhai Sarvaiya (42), a garment dealer, believe they were IT officers,
they even showed their identity card & fake raid order letter before they
conducted the raid, said the police.

6. When Amitabh Bachchan and Mehmood's Bombay to Goa

became a source of inspiration for MNC officials to plot a robbery
Big Bs Bombay to Goa revolved around the plot of getting rich overnight.
Even though the film was treated with light humor with comedians like
Mehmood and Aruna Irani, a group of MNC officials tried pulling a stunt
inspired by the movie. A gang of
MNC workers planned to rob the
safe of a warehouse. It was after
interrogation that the members
admitted that this idea evolved
only after they watched the film.

#CheatingHacks from Murli AKA Sanjay Dutt in Munnabhai

M.B.B.S
Taking a cue from Sanjay Dutts Munnabhai M.B.B.S, a syndicate of cheats
decided to leak the question paper of Combined Higher Secondary Level
(10+2) examination in 2013. After interrogation, they told the police that the
idea of a paper leak and sending answers through mobile phones
propagated from the film. Crime branch resolved the case in November
2013 and the police inspector involved in the case added, "This case was
not only inspired by the movie Munna Bhai MBBS, but the steps involved
were also very
similar to the ones
shown
in
the
movie. It was a
case of a paper
leak which involved
one of the subinspectors from the
Delhi Police. That
sub-inspector
would message the
answers to the
candidates.
The
cheating syndicate
leaked the question paper of Combined Higher Secondary Level
examination and the answers were provided through SMSes!"
