RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research is defined as human activity based on intellectual application in the investigation of

matter. The primary purpose for applied research is discovering interpreting and the development
of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge on a wide variety of scientific
matters of our world and the universe. Research can use the scientific method but need not do so.
Research Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. The research
methodology in the present study deals with research design, data collection methods, sampling
methods, survey, analysis and interpretation.
Approaches to Research
Descriptive approach is one of the most popular approach these days. In this approach, a problem
is described by the researcher by using questionnaire or schedule. This approach enables a
researcher to explore new areas of investigation.
Research Design A research design is the arrangements of conditions for collections and
analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with
economy in procedure. Descriptive research design is used in this project.

A well-structured questionnaire is framed.

Data is collected from the employees of Tara Health Foods limited.
Findings are made and necessary suggestions and recommendations are given.

DATA SOURCES
There are two types of data collection namely primary data collection and secondary data
collection. Data collection is a term used to describe a process of preparing and collecting
business data for example as a part of a process improvement or similar project.

PRIMARY DATA
SECONDARY DATA

Primary data
The primary data is defined as the data, which is collected for the first time and
fresh in nature And happen to be the original in character through field survey. In primary data

collection, I collect the data by my own self using methods such as questionnaires. The key point
here is that the data collect is unique to me and research become more interesting.
There are many methods of collecting primary data and the main methods include:

Questionnaire.
Interviews.
Focus group interview.
Observation.

QUESTIONNAIRE
Questionnaire is a popular method of data collection, but difficult to design and collect
information. A questionnaire is a series of questions asked to individuals to obtain useful
information about a given topic. It requires high degree of skill, experience through knowledge
of the research topic and ability to frame questions and a great deal of patience.
INTERVIEW
This techniques is a primarily used to gain an understanding of the underlying reasons and
motivations for peoples attitudes, preferences or behaviour. The interview was done by asking a
general question. I encourage the respondent to talk freely.
Secondary Data

The secondary data are those which have been already been collected by someone else and have
been passed through statistical process. The secondary data for this study are already available in
the firms internal records, annual reports and companys website. Advantages of the secondary
data collection methods are1. It saves time.
2. Provides a large database than what would be possible to collect on ones own. However there
are some disadvantages that the researcher cannot personally check the data so its reliability may
be questioned.
SAMPLING
It is that part of statistical practice concerned with the selection of individuals observation
intended to yield some knowledge about a respondents of concern.
SAMPLE UNIT
The employees of Tara Heath Foods Limited are the sample unit in the survey.
SAMPLE SIZE
The sample size chosen for this study is 50.
DATA ANALYSIS & INTERPRETATIONData is collected through the questionnaire and analysis with the help of bar chart and pie charts.
