2.0 SELECTED MEDIA

2.1 MAGAZINE EDITOR
A magazine operates very much like a newspaper, with the title,
editor, budget rooms, and advertising, but different to magazine in several
important ways. A potential life expectancy is much longer press statement
to the magazine. A monthly publication, you might not be use the news for
several months. Depending on the printing schedule and preparation, your
posts can appear as soon as one or two weeks after you send output or as
late as six months later. The nice thing is that every time a news emerged,
2

the information was still in front of the reader a whole month instead of
just one day. Focus editorial and magazine format usually more specific
than the newspapers. "Focus" refers to the subject of magazine cover; for
example, Linux Journal focuses on Linux in general, while Computer
World might focus on Linux in the company. "Format" refers to the way in
which news and information magazine is presented, usually as a specific
mixture of special space, articles, features (main story), shorter pieces, and
the editorial (opinion piece). Magazine stories does not have to be a
"newsy" as a newspaper stories. To a much greater extent, a research
magazine and create news instead of relying on current events. Common
interest magazine are trying appeal to large segment of the population. (An
example Cosmopolitan, Jelita, Wanita, Remaja). Special-interest magazine
targeting restricted, clear community from reader which share specific
interests in common with the activities and concerns related. A special
interest magazine are a good target for the Linux community, especially
those that focus on PC, the operating system, storage, security, computer
and information technology. Whether its own interests or the public
interest, broadcast news more closely related to the audience of the
publication and a greater impact on the audience, the more likely which
editor would choose to publish your news. The main factors are relevance
editorial and appeal to the target audience of the publication.
Job roles are differ for differ magazines and many roles are beyond
simply editing copy. For large magazines, the executive editor or chief
editor clarify that the companys editorial policy is complied. This job is
primarily administrative but the whole magazine (caption, text, pictures,
heading and advertise) is the final responsibility of the chief editor. An
editor at a small start-up magazine could be deal with everything from
contracts to when an editor at a larger, more established publication, might
only focus on copy in his section. However, most magazines require chief
editor to write editorial, which are short essay on subject of current
readers passion while expressing the magazines review. The types of and

number of editor who work in magazines depending on the kind and size
of publication.
2.2 NEWSPAPER EDITOR
Newspapers does not mean only a daily newspaper remains aimed
to civilians. There are particular interest newspapers for business,
computer, information technology, telecommunications, and other fields. A
special paper allowed to run weekly instead of every day, but, like friends
every day, they mainly news-driven, rather than driven (which is the case
with the magazine). Newspaper editor reject many more posts than they
use. Circulation larger or more active paper of protected areas, more
broadcast editor have to sort through. Most newspapers are have a separate
budget, which is does not to be confused with the financial budget. Space
budget consists of the total number of printed pages, divided among
advertisement and news articles. Advertising is the lifeblood of
newspapers; advertising consistently provided the largest share of
revenues. Advertisements must be placed first, then the remaining space
was initially allocated to the issue of particular stories and positions by a
major editor. The selection of news broadcasts to close was based on the
personal considerations and professional editor. The major factors in the
judgment which may be summed up in one word: "newsworthy".
Unfortunately, the news editor is defined by the individual opinions.
Newsworthy stories are generally those that offer the most immediate
information most to most people. When a news release issued on certain
days which is not contained in the paper the following day, this does not
mean that the news would not appear in all. Broadcasts are not considered
sufficiently newsworthy to appear in the edition Sunday paper may not be
appropriate for the weekend, where there is more space and less emphasis
on the latest news. Although the news is selected for use, the article can
still be withdrawn at the last minute. Insert large advertisers may be
cancelled only before the deadline, which is requires changing the layout,

or a great story emerged late in the day. When this happens, more news
sacrificed removed.
3.0 INTERVIEW QUESTION IN APPENDIX
4.0 COMPARISON BETWEEN NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINES EDITOR
The role of the editor is to make other people's work for publication. A
press editor responsible for editing some individual stories or articles that are
produced by different reporters or contributors, while the editor of the magazines
usually work with one or several writers who contribute all the content for a
magazines.
4.1 CONTENT
Newspaper essentially offer fresh information is written straight and there
is no one type of taste. It is founded mostly on fresh facts and written as it
happens, where it happens. Magazine content 'was different in the sense that they
were only touch on a particular subject matter. A magazine for the fishing cannot
have content talking about fashion and beauty tips. Newspapers allowed to easily
put these topics together easily in various sections or hobby and still make sense.
The value of each content is also different as newspapers more dependent on what
is important and what the things which readers want are and editor will write in an
appropriate manner and straight. While the intelligent content of newspapers is
too serious of a magazine.
4.2 READABILITY
Newspaper readers are mostly vulnerable to facts and figures written and
presented in a way that is straight. A magazine readers were treated to a more
casual, free, art and "personal" information flow. An author or magazine tend to
practice the craft of writing he is more independent from newspapers the writer.
Since most newspaper content is news, a lot of it will not be of any use in the next
day does not like the magazine can be read at any time even after a week. The
newspaper is as good as one use today does not like the magazines have to wait
the next issue to be considered old.
4.3 ADVERTISMENT

Business wise, these two tend to attract advertisement but in doing so, a
magazine has several advantages over newspapers competition. Advertisements in
magazines tend to attract "the mind" among readers because they look much more
attractive and colourful with all they were glossy pages. On the other hand, given
the fact that newspapers are circulated every day give similar impression that sold
more than a weekly magazine. Additionally, ads in magazines are too expensive
than in newspapers. Magazine at times, though does not the most part, tend to stay
more on advertising than the notification of such information.
4.4 LITERARY FREEDOM
A magazine editor to have more freedom to publish or have more space
for subjectivity. Magazine editor have the freedom to publish something in a
creative way. He further enhance the editor' expression through self-expression.
Newspaper editors on the other side exacerbated the relatively tight, strong and
straight to the eye as their movements are mostly based on facts and figures.
4.5 HARD AND SOFT NEWS
Newspapers published a large number of content ranging from hard news
to entertainment pieces and feel-good story. Always breaking news around the
world, newspapers have a lack of content. The magazine tend to concentrate on
entertainment pieces and characteristics about certain subjects in their chosen
subject magazine called soft news. Magazine is written between fiction and report
hard news. Magazine articles can have all the entertainment fiction, with plot,
scenes, characters and descriptions. At the same time, journalist magazine
presents interesting, topical information - Hard facts obtained from research and
interviews.

Each publisher offers was different, but there are some issues that are
faced by almost all publishers. From a digital perspective, following three points
covering the critical challenges facing today's issue of magazine. This year has
brought the greatest ever challenge to the publishers, readers increasingly get free
content, decreased print circulation and advertising blockers increased in
popularity. Some have tried creative ways to recoup that lost revenue such as
subscription cost Economist Espresso, but others will reluctantly admit that does
not applications or social channels deliver cold, hard cash that they need to keep
going. Many magazine publishers acknowledged that they struggle to know how
to take advantage of magazine advertisement, with advertisers struggling in equal
measure. Very few of tablet owners buy magazines on their devices, this is a
concern for both advertising and circulation revenue from print editions has fallen
more than 20 percent since their peak near the middle of the last decade.
Apparently this will not change anytime soon, there is no recovery in sight.
Advertisers make matters worse. Advertising industry has been slow to agree with
the idea that they still have to pay a lot of money to advertise in a magazine tablet
editions, although much cheaper ads website is more accessible. However the
magazine said they worth the price of advertising space for ads reach a targeted
audience who really want to see the ads. Even so, they do not like the idea that the
tablet edition premium command the same price as printed pages. Many people
now a days also have very easy access to download illegal copies of the magazine
for free, thus putting the magazine industry out of business. Publishers need to
address several issues. First, a variety of free content on the internet gave some
readers the impression that it is not necessary to pay for digital versions of a
magazine story. Also, there is no industry standard for the price. Publishers are not
in agreement on whether to include free access to digital copies as part of your
print subscription.

propriety editorial process. The review by external referees who have the right expertise
is the most common method to ensure the quality of the manuscript. However, editor or
associate editor sometimes may reject manuscripts without external make best use of

identity of the author (s) can be identified by the reviewers based on field research. Many
journals follow the practice of keeping the identity of the anonymous reviewers author
