Select two of these essential aspects and explain them in detail using an example
related to educational leadership in schools.
a) Aspect 1

Understanding change: Leaders should have the ability to be flexible to


accept any changes could happen in the educational life. Because, in
education there is always something new to have, learn, change,
understand, and accept. Therefore, understanding of changes is useful,
either its from the first change type (simple and easy) or the second one
(big). However, changes is a very difficult thing to accept and do, which
makes a good leader to a better leader. For example, if the ministry of the
education has something new in a way of submitting the teachers and the
administration of the school, the faculty have to accept it. Why? Because
every change has its advantages. Which lead to have a development in the
characterization of the personality of the faculty of education.

b) Aspect 2

Relationship building: A person who has a good relationship and can build
a relationship, consider as a good relationship builder. Why? Because he
characterized by interpersonal skills, and how to communicate with others
easily. However, its a requirement standard to be a successful leader. For
example, once we went to a school for our teaching practice and we had a
meeting with the principle of the school. She welcomed us and she was very
flexible with us and kind. We had a great meeting and she became our
friend. Plus, were still on touch with each other. That helps us a lot, with also
feeling confidant and safe.

Think of a person that you know or knew who you considered to have the qualities
of a good leader. They dont have to be a Principal; they can have any role.
Describe who they are and two qualities they have/had and how they used these
that you considered necessary for effective leadership for change and sustainable
improvement.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid


From about 10 years ago, H.H.S. Mohammed Bin Rashid became the ruler of
Dubai. He really have lots of achievements, not only in the UAE, but all over
the world. UAE did become more globalized in different types and ways.
Although, HH.S Mohammed Bin Rashid has really interpersonal skills, which
was a way of exploring and communicating with others. Not in our country,
but in outside of it. That led to gain a friendship and partnership from more
than 10 countries all over the world. He is very flexible, friendly, kind,
understandable, and acknowledge of changes. He accept changes and build
up on it, and spread it out for people in a convenient way, which makes them
accept it with a smile. In my opinion, I believe that His highness Shaikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid is a great example and role of a great leader.
