Abstract
In this laboratory practice, the main objective was to measure the equivalent of 1J in calories,
comparing it with a theoretical value of 0.24 calories, where we had to find its absolute and
relative error.
The practice to be carried out was carried out by determining the mechanical equivalent of heat
by measuring the voltage of the resistance, the value of the current and then by means of
calculations is the energy supplied by the source then the amount of heat in calories required To
increase the temperature of the water and the calorimeter. By means of the values found, the
specific heights were found, where they could be compared with the theoretical ones, finding the
percentage errors.
Keywords: Thermometer, Calorimeter, resistance, voltage, mechanical equivalent
