Cummins ISX15 EPA 2010 delivers superior driving


performance while improving industry-leading fuel economy.
Plus, it achieves near-zero emissions levels without sacrificing
the reliability or durability that you expect from a Cummins
engine.
Every major component and system is designed and built by
Cummins for total quality control, building on a proven engine
with fully integrated electronics. An improved, more precise
air-handling system has reduced restriction, which helps
optimize performance.
The result is that Class 8 truck owners will achieve up
to 5% more miles per gallon with the ISX15. In addition,
maintenance intervals are unchanged from previous years.
So the ISX15 will deliver the lowest operating costs of any
engine in its class.
For superior fuel economy, strong performance, long-range
durability and exceptional dependability, youve got every
reason to spec an ISX15.
XPI Fuel System The proven technology of the XPI
common-rail fuel system delivers a precise quantity of fuel
at ultra-high pressures. This, together with more robust
electronic engine controls, enables multiple injection events
per cycle. Flexibility in injection timing increases fuel economy
and performance while decreasing exhaust emissions.

Cooled EGR This next-generation system lowers combustion


temperatures for reduced emissions and optimized fuel economy.
Fully Integrated Electronic Controls A single highercapacity Electronic Control Module (ECM) controls everything
from air intake to exhaust aftertreatment for peak performance
and near-zero emissions.
Intebrake Even with one overhead cam, the ISX15 still has
best-in-class braking horsepower (up to 600 bhp) for greater
vehicle control with reduced service brake wear.
Cummins Aftertreatment System The proven Cummins
Particulate Filter reduces particulate matter by over 90%. In 2010
it is combined with Cummins Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
to meet emissions standards while maintaining best-in-class
performance, reliability and durability. Cummins SCR technology
has been proven in over 200,000 European vehicles and uses
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to achieve NOx emissions at near-zero

About the ISX.
Every element of the Cummins ISX has been
designed and manufactured to optimize reliability and
fuel economy, lowering the cost of your oil and gas
operation while maintaining superior performance.
The ISX features the proven cooled-EGR subsystem
and VG Turbo. A Cummins Particulate Filter and a
coalescing filter complete the totally integrated
system.
The ISX is designed for years of dependable service.
Its turbocharger is a good example. With only one
moving part in the hot exhaust stream, it is more
reliable and durable than competitive turbos. Put that

The ISX allows your oil and gas operation comply with
varying emissions standards found in different locations
around the world. In certain regions of the United States,
the local emissions standards require workover rig
engines to follow more stringent automotive emissions
levels instead of the less stringent industrial levels. The
one solution to these different requirements is the
Cummins ISX, providing power not only to operate the
workover rig equipment, but also to power the rig down the
road, meeting every EPA 2007 automotive emissions
standard along the way.

The Cummins ISX delivers the best fuel economy of any
heavy-duty diesel engine in its class. It also continues to
lead the industry in reliability and durability. Advanced

Cummins Particulate Filter Fully integrated to deliver
uncompromising performance and reliability. Cummins
design allows regeneration even in adverse operating
conditions and reduces particulate matter more than
90%.
Dual Overhead Camshafts One camshaft drives highpressure fuel injection for clean responsive power. The
second camshaft operates the intake and exhaust
valves, with dedicated lobes for the integrated engine
brake.
Cummins Intebrake Provides greater vehicle control
and reduced service brake wear. Up to 600 braking
horsepower.
Fully Integrated Electronic Controls A single ECM
(Electronic Control Module) controls the engine and
aftertreatment. Also coordinates interaction with the
transmission, ABS, engine brake, cooling fan and more.
High-Pressure Fuel Injection System For cleaner,
more complete combustion.

Crankcase Ventilation System Electronically


managed for optimum efficiency without adding
parasitic load or complexity to the engine. The
coalescing filter is easily serviced, only needing
replacement once a year or every 125,000 miles
(200,000 km).
SmartTorque Ratings Deliver up to 200 lb-ft of extra
torque in the top two gears for better fuel economy,
fewer shifts and less driver fatigue.
