shall be addressed in the Permit To Work.
Has a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) been conducted for this Job Description?
Yes - Refer to JSA #
No - Carry out a JSA before commencement of work
Refer to ISSoW Manual/Procedure as applicable
* ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN
Note: Please refer to Vendor Data before commence work.
Caution:
Prior to commencement of work:
Safety isolation
Protection against re-closing
Verify off-circuit condition
Earthing and short-circuiting
Cover or barrier adjacent live parts
Warning: These five safety rules must be observed as safety measures for
work at electrical systems and equipment.
Cleaning works should be carried outdoors due to explosion hazards. If t
his is not possible, ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
Before beginning cleaning work in confined spaces, extinguish naked flam
e due to the danger of explosion.
Always wear protective clothing.

Attach individual parts and large component modules carefully to suitabl

e lifting devices that are in technically perfect condition and which posses ade
quate loading bearing capacity.
Do not stand under suspended load
* SPECIAL MATERIAL / TOOLS / SERVICES REQUIRED:

* JOB INSTRUCTIONS:
The working area must be isolated and secured against reconnection in ac
cordance with the Safety Regulations specified by IEC and appropriate national s
tandards before inspection;
Correct condition of the switchgear should be monitored by regular inspe
ctions;
Under normal operating conditions, inspection should be carried out once
every four years by specially trained professional electricians;
Under abnormal operating conditions (including adverse climatic conditio
ns) and/or special environmental stresses (heavy pollution and aggressive atmosp
here, among others),
inspection may be necessary at shorter intervals.
Inspection is primarily to carry out a visual check for grime, corrosion
and moisture:
- Effects of high temperature on the main circuits;
- Traces of partial discharge on the insulating material parts;
- Traces of leakage current on the insulating material parts;
- Surfaces of the contact systems;
However, inspection must also include correct mechanical/electrical oper
ation of the following parts:
switching devices, actuating, interlocking, protection and sign
alling devices.
The visual inspection of the contact system should include the followin
g items resp. their observation is strongly recommended:
Damages (e.g. worn silver resp. tin layer, signs of inadmissible heating
, etc.)
at the contacting surfaces of the MNS contacts and their counterparts (d
istribution bars,withdrawable module condapter, outgoing cable connection unit).
Contacts movable and properly snaped into position in the withdrawable m
odule rear wall or contact apparatus housing.
Deformation of contacts (bent), mechanical damages.
Medium-force fit of the contact spring (withdrawable modules 8E/4 and 8E
/2) in its specified position.
lnsulation behind crimping swollen.
Contacts greased.
Instrument transformer circuit
With regard to the switching devices, their separate Instruction manual
should be followed;
Check all switchgear accessories and auxiliary devices (e.g. storage bat
teries);
No partial discharge must occur on the surfaces of equipment at operatin
g voltage.
This can, for example, be detected by characteristic noises, a clearly p
erceptible smell of ozone, or visible glowing in the dark;

Visually checking the contact system.

We recommend turning the contact system alternately in order to clean th
e inner contact points of the contact system.
The contact points should be cleaned if signs of overheating (discoloure
d surface) are visible;
If any irregular conditions are detected, then relative repair measures
must be taken.
Busbar Comportment
Visual inspection of the insulating materials
Make the plant you want to work on safe (follow the plant safety regulat
ions);
Remove the circuit-breaker from panel where you want to work and close t
he earthing switch;
Close the earthing switch relative to the main busbars;
By gaining access from the circuit-breaker compartment, remove bulkhead
9, unscrewing no.7 M8 screws;
After removal of the bulkhead from the circuit-breaker compartment, the
main busbars are visible;
Visually check that the top monoblocs 5, where the tulip isolating conta
ct is housed, are integral and do not show any breakages;
Visually check that the insulating covering of the main busbars and the
insulating joining cover of the busbars are integral and do not show any breakag
es;
Circuit-Breaker compartment
Visual inspection and lubrication of the isolating contacts
Make the plant you want to work on safe (follow the plant safety regulat
ions);
Carry out a visual inspection on the top and bottom isolating contacts 2
1 (figure 143) in the circuitbreaker compartment and check for any presence of d
irt, humidity and signs of corrosion on the moving parts;
Remove any deposits of dust using a dry cloth that does not leave any de
posits on the treated surfaces (do not use woollen cloths);
If necessary, grease the mechanical moving parts by applying a thin laye
r of mechanical grease for moving parts.
Checking functionality of the interlocks
Carry out a visual inspection of the mechanical parts of the interlocks
(key locks 22, door interlocks 23, fail safe 24) and check for any presence of h
umidity and signs of corrosion on the moving parts.
Remove any deposits of dust using a dry cloth that does not leave any de
posits on the treated surfaces (do not use woollen cloths).
Check that the moving parts can slide evenly. If necessary, grease the m
echanical moving parts by applying a thin layer of mechanical grease for moving
parts.
* JOB COMPLETION CHECKLIST:
Upon completion of job:
PLEASE RECORD ALL THE OBSERVATIONS/FINDINGS, CARRY OVER OF REMAINING JOB
(if any for NEXT JOB SCHEDULE) IN BASSNET JOB REPORT COLUMN.
Carry out all appropriate inspection and tests to ensure a safe and reli
able return to service of the equipment
Ensure that the work site is left in a clean and safe state
All Permit to Work and/or Certificates are cancelled
All isolations have been normalized

Inform the Superintendent of any:

Additional/emergent work identified during the course of the job
Equipment limitations or significant deterioration in equipment conditio
n
Any suggestions/recommendations to improve task method, job instruction
and/or equipment performance for discussion.
Update and document all relevant details related to the completed job in
to Bassnet Component History, which should include:
Equipment condition before and after the job
Adjustments made
Results of Functional Test/Inspection
Equipment Running Hours (Where Applicable)
Spares and materials useage
