Wat Khao Phrabat & Near By places: Address: Bang Lamung

District, Chon Buri, Thailand

The Wats or Buddhist temples that dot Thailand are a definite must
visit for any visitor to the country. The architecture and feel associated
with these temples is something very unique to Thailand.
If you are in Pattaya the best place to get a taste of this culture is at
the Wat Khao Phra Bat Temple. The temple is elaborately decorated in
white red and gold and there are several golden Buddha statues all
over the place.

It is an amazing place to experience the serenity

associated with Buddhism. However, be warned, the temple is quite

popular with tourists so you might not get any meditation done here
but it is still worth the visit. Situated on a hill it also provides terrific
views of the ground below.
The hill itself is an interesting place to visit as there are a couple of
other statues in the vicinity so you can explore on your way back from
the temple. An interesting visit for the culture-seeker.

This beautiful golden Buddha sits on top of a hill with breath taking
views of the city and coastline, providing some excellent photo
opportunities and allowing you to orientate yourself to the cityscape.
There is a steep climb so visiting in the morning is a good way to avoid
the heat of the day. If you can get there early enough, this is the
perfect place to watch the sunrise.

A little north of central Pattaya, this impressive temple-like structure sits on

the edge of the sea with more beautiful views to behold (and photograph), plus
amazing Hindu and Buddhist sculptures.

their families to Pattaya. The Aquarium is built in the shape of tunnels,
so you are essentially looking up and around at the amazing marine life
that the place has on display.
As you walk down the blue felt corridor, suddenly Manta rays swim
right above you, sea-horses bob on the side while other fish scuttle
around. This amazing experience of almost being underwater is what
gives the theme park its uniqueness. They also have a touch pool
where you can interact with some of the sea-faring creatures. There is
a separate coral reef zone with colourful tropical fish as well as an
ocean zone where you can see huge sharks and rays from the depths
of the ocean. Not to be missed are the jellyfish. Seeing them glowing in
the dark is an amazing experience. Be sure to visit this with kids to
help them understand the world of the ocean.

most people.

From the wild cats to birds of prey, from adjutant storks to red
avadavats, the variety of species is simply mind-boggling. You can

lovely animals and birds have been preserved in a favorable and
habitable environment and hence thrive in it.
The park is dedicated to conservation and they also have a section on
gibbon rehabilitation if you wish to see it. Additionally they also have a
host of wildlife adventure activities for kids as well as adults. Be sure to
