Studio Process Checklist


Have you completed all tasks as directed?
The Exploration Proposal including time plan:
Have you used your Exploration Proposal to frame an individual design process?
Have your interpreted and responded to the sources of inspiration and ideas in the
Exploration Proposal?
Exploration and development of ideas:
Are they relevant to your Exploration Proposal?
Have you ensured the imagery is your own and acknowledge any borrowed
material used for inspiration?
Does all the work relate back to the aims and ideas in your exploration proposal?
Exploration and development of aesthetics, art elements and art principles:
Do they connect with the aims of your Exploration Proposal?
Have you written about your use of aesthetic qualities, art elements
and principles, using appropriate terminology?
Exploration of materials and development of techniques:
To get a high result, this must be extensive and refined, and show an
understanding of the materials used and their inherent characteristics.
Does this sound like your trailing?
Have you fully explored the possibilities of techniques and materials you
hope to use in Unit 4?
Evaluation of exploratory and developmental work:
This must be consistent, thoughtful and highly informative. Is it?
Do not just describe, but analyse and evaluate your working methods.
Is this what you have done?
Annotations are an extremely important component of the Visual Diary.
Does your workbook demonstrate a high level of personal engagement
in the design process?
Selection and evaluation of a range of potential directions:
Have you considered the aesthetics, materials and specific techniques
you have used? Have you identified how they relate to and address the aims
of your Exploration Proposal?
Have you discussed the implications of each in depth and label them throughout
your Design Process? Can you justify why some potential directions have been
selected over others. Have you clearly labelled your chosen potential directions?
