Rating

Fire & Ash

This book gets a 4/5-star rating. I love the book series and they
previous books had a very nice flow to it but this one seemed a bit
slow. Unlike the other books in this series it just seemed to kind of
drag on in the rising action aspect of the book and it really didnt
reach the climax until almost the end of the book. But besides that,
I really enjoyed reading it and it gave a nice ending to an amazing
series.

Maybe more than I ever have- Nixs journal
Its been seven months since Benny Imura, his girlfriend, Nix
Riley, and best friend, Chong, left the safety of Mountainside and
ventured out into the zombie infested land called the Rot and
Ruin. The group, along with friends, Riot and Lilith, and Captain
Joe Ledger, are tasked to help the scientists at the mythical
Sanctuary find a cure for the Reaper Plague. But theyre racing
against The Night Church, a cult led by Saint John, One of the
most dangerous man in the gameland, according to Riot, to get
the last of Dr. McReadys, One of the most brightest minds in
the search for a cure, files. Benny must find a way to save
Chong and everybody else in the Rot and Ruin before the Night
Church makes and uses their secret weapon that would, get
rid of the plague that is the human race for good.

Connections
1. I can relate to Nixs quote about liking the new Benny
but how she wonders if Benny likes the person hes
becoming. I can relate because Ive drastically changed
over time and I wonder to myself if I truly like the
person Im becoming or not. My friends might like me
but do I like me.
2. The Reaper Plague reminds me of how many diseases
runs ramped on the Earth and how some people think its
a gift from some god and how modern medicine can
always find a cure until its too late.
3. The Night Church reminds me of how terrible cults are.
The stuff they do in the book isnt stuff of Fiction.
Brainwashing, sacrifices, drinking the kool-aid this
stuff is quiet terrifying and it show how far people would
go to worship a god.

Main Characters
1. Benny Imura is one of the main characters in the
book. Over the course of the series, he had to grow
up fast and this led to some serious problem. Hes a
skilled swordsmen and possesses great marksmanship
from having practice on the dead around him. Having
lose his parent and his older brother Tom to the
Reaper Plague, Benny would stop at nothing to find a
cureeven if it means hurting the person he loves.
2. Riot is the daughter to the late Mother Rose, the
former leader of the Night Church. She was out
casted and sent away after deifying her mother in the
book one. She is a really cool and laid back girl, but
dont cross her cause she is very skilled with a
slingshot. Riot wanted nothing to do with the Night
Church but after the great massacre, and her mother
being one of the many casualties, she starts to deeply
regret holding hatred for her mother after all these
years and wishes to see her one last time.

3. Nix Riley is one of the main characters in the book.

Just like Benny, shes had to grow up fast since Tom
and her mother died. Nix, along with Benny, Chong,
and Lilith, were all trained to be samurais by Tom
before hes sudden demise. Nix is as fiery like her
crimson hair. Thought she loves Benny she
sometimes wonders if she will ever be enough for the
new Benny.
