I am currently a Community Manager at co-working space Huckletree, and previously a Masters student at
UCL studying MSc Digital Anthropology where I achieved First-Class honours. I have an academic
background in a range of anthropological topics and have learnt multiple research techniques of qualitative
and quantitative data gathering. Through professional work in a variety of industries I have shown a distinct
ability to work at a fast pace and with others. I can think and work strategically; whilst I am a confident
communicator who is able to maintain relationships with various personnel.

Seeing the Whole Picture: Identifying the Intersection of Tourism, Orientalism and Photography to Assess
Whether Instagram Users (Self-)Orientalise Landmarks.

For my Masters dissertation, I investigated photo-tourism on Instagram. In an age of mass media and
technology has played a significant role in altering the positions of subject/object relations. As such, the
post-modern tourist is no longer concerned with authenticity. I intend to investigate who constructs the
photographic object of culture and for what purpose?

I using ethnographic techniques to build, edit and present a video based upon the sensitive topic of teenage
harm, and its supposed glorification on Instagram. I argue that the online community build in response to
self harm postings cannot simply be dismissed as destructive, but should be approached thoughtfully.
The Role of Conspicuous Consumption in Reducing Female Intrasexual Competition. (Jan - May 2015)
For my undergraduate dissertation I carried out primary research based upon Evolutionary Anthropology,
detailing the competitive behaviour of females. Using ethnographic research and online survey tools, I
showed that individuals may undergo submissive and envious behaviour, following their reaction to an
online stimuli of conspicuous ornamentation displayed by another female.

2016 - Ongoing: Huckletree I am currently a Community Manager for co-working space Huckletree. My
roles are to help develop an 'in-office culture' by facilitating an inviting work environment through personal
relations, coordinating events, engaging with social media channels and working on an outreach
programme informing business decision and startup outreach strategy.
2015 - Ongoing : Panel - I am currently co-owner and key relationship holder at Soundcloud page
panel. My role at Panel requires me to: (1) manage eight different social media pages, (2) to build
relationships with artists, channels, networks and industry professionals, and (3) to analyse the metrics on
the page to increase our exposure. Using social media tools, the music shared on our page has been
listened to over a million times in a year since its conception.
2015 : Research Assistant at Yale-Myers School of Forestry - Throughout June and July, I lived in the
Yale-Myers forest, CT, working full-time as a research assistant for the University of Yale. I was required to
adapt quickly to new surroundings and people, whilst I performed tasks daily with a team for over a month.
2014 - 2015 : Sidney Cooper Gallery: Canterbury Christchurch University - I volunteered weekly as an
invigilator within an art gallery, where my responsibilities were to guide and inform the public.
2009 - 2014 : Front of House Merchandise Vending - Over the past five years I have gained full-time
experience working as a Sales Assistant and Cashier for five different festivals and concerts.
2014 : The Lamb Brewery - I worked full time for this pub and craft beer specialist for two months. My
roles mainly frequented bar-work and waiting duties, working under pressure within a team. I also fully
learned how to use electronic tills and make kitchen orders.
2010, 2014 : Aseema org - I organised local Charity Events, in which I was able to spend over 3 weeks in
Mumbai, working in 2 under-privileged schools. Teaching classes of 30 children, aged from 4-18, to read
and write English or to partake in Sports activities such as Football or Cricket.
2012 : Atlas Gallery - I constructed a portfolio of market research for Photography gallery Atlas, based on
the analysis of confidence levels in the Art Market. I was required to conduct my own 2nd hand research
and condense information fit for presenting to potential clients.
2011 : 3D-Eye I worked with set-design company 3D-Eye, full-time for 6 weeks, helping arrange and
design Christmas window dressing for Selfridges, amongst other structures.

Interests, Contributions and Additional Noteworthy Achievements


I have writing experience outside of an academic setting having contributed to blogs: Material World
blog, Brinco Na Areia, and various music blogs. Whilst being in full-time Masters education I put a lot of
time into promoting, analysing and designing my side-project Panel (http://soundcloud.com/panel).
Additionally, I have a wide portfolio of volunteer work and many of the skills I have learnt I have used to
teach both locally and globally, having spent a month teaching sports and literacy in India. I am a keen
football player, having captained a Kent Average Football League for over a year. I have first aid and driving
licenses, an A grade in GCE AS level Mathematics, and basic abilities in Spanish and French.
