DAWAR FOOTWEARS

COMPANY PROFILE
Dawar group is led from the front by Mr. Puran Dawar , a pro-active veteran of the shoe
industry in India .Mr.Dawar is widely travelled person and has been associated with the shoe
industry for more than three decades .Heunderstand the dynamics of shoe business and how it
is conducted in the international market.
With his clear vision and rock solid dedication,he has brought Dawar
Group this far and continues to lead it with missionary zeal.
He is ably assisted by Sambhav Dawar , the Managing Director .He is
a young and dynamic person with a solid and pragmatic vision of
growth and expansion fpr the company .Mr.Prem Agarwal a
seasoned professional looks after the day-to-day financial and
administrative affairs of the company.
The second rung of the management consists of a talented tean of
young professionals who handle various affairs of the company.

The company is running since 1941 and has a turnover of about


250Crore .
Plans are in the offing to further consolidate the position of the Group by increasing production
capacity and deploying new machines.The group plans to reach out to the new anf unchartered
markets in the coming times.
It is Mr.Dawars concern for his people and environment related issues that have endeared him
to one and all .A visit to Groups manufacturing facility and corporate office reflects these
concerns.
As the future unfolds,Dawar Group is all set to grow further and carve out a special niche for
itself in the world market.

OBJECTIVES OF VISIT
The objective of the Industrial Visit is to help students gain first hand information regarding
functioning of the industry which presents the students with opportunities to plan,organize and
engage in active learning experience both inside and outside the classroom.
To understand the process
To have a practical exprience of the market.

To become aware of the role of different
people in the organization
To become aware of career opportunities
To recognize the need for health and safety in
the workplace .
To focus students on specific aspects of their
studies.

OVERVIEW OF THE TRIP


i-NURTURE-TMIMT had organized an industrial visit from 14.10.2016 to 15.10.2016 to Dawar
Footwear,Agra ; located in industrial sector of Sikandra for the students of BBA (Brand
Management & Communication) first & second year and MBA (Advertising & Digital Marketing ).
The visit was organized with prior permission of our honourable Director Sir Dr.Vipin Jain and
our Head of MLI Mr.Mathew Anthony.
Professor Subhankar Das ,Professor Neeraj Gogia, Professor Shubhra Mondal and Professor
Shivam Agarwal were the faculty co-ordinators for the whole industrial trip.

DETAILS OF OUR JOURNEY


We started travelling from the TMIMT Campus ,Moradabad on the night 14 October 2016 along
with our co-ordinator faculties.
We reached at Dawar Footwear premises at Sikandra,Agra after a journey of 7 hours.
We were given a warm welcome by the HR Manager of Dawar Footwears Mr.Ravinder Saini
He gave us a brief view of the companys
history,vision,mission and goal.He answered the
queries of the students regarding the Export house and
satisfied our quest .He introduced us to the various
departments of the organization like :
Production,Research & Development etc.
We met the merchandisers, managers and workers too
which provided us a pratical experience of different
levels of Management and hierarchies.
We were also informed about the intricate functioning
of the Production process, From the procurement of
raw material to the packing of finished shoe.

We came to know that raw material is not generated in Agra and it is procured from different
places like Chennai, Chandigarh and Kanpur.
And they mainly promote their products in the Footwear Fairs.
It was told by the producers that different is leather used in making different products ,the
different uses are mentioned below :

The tips given to the students of i-NURTURE-TMIMT by the people at Dawar Footwear were :

Conclusion
We are thankful for our faculties for organizing such an informative event for us which turned
out to be a crucial trip in developing our practical skills Export and Mass level production.We
have learnt the proper management criteria of the Export Footwear Company and have an
opportunity to research on it.

We hope to get more chances further to have such wonderful and informative experiences of
visiting different industries.
