1. INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT

There was a time when the only way you could share files between
your Android device and a Windows computer was by using a USB
cable. These days, there are wireless options available that make it
easier to share files. One such option is Phone Direct, a
powerful android file manager. Phone Direct helps you manage the
files on your local Android device.
2. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:
This Android Application can be used by any such person who uses a
laptop and a phone as well. It can also be used in organizations for
brisk data transfer.Phone Direct allows you to browse Android device
files right from the computer. If your computer and Android device
are in the same WiFi network, then you can manage your device files
wirelessly without a client. The LAN feature in ES File Explorer can
stream media files, view remote pictures, and operates files between
your Android device and SMB server. Before you begin, get your
IPv4 address and make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi. ES File
Explorer can access any shared folders on your LAN network,
including from any other computers on the network also Bluetooth.
3. SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
Phone Direct will be a promising Android application. It is a
powerful android file manager. Phone Direct helps you manage the
files on your local Android device. Starting with version 3, however,
LAN support was added to make it possible to share files with a
Windows PC over Wi-Fi. The user can also achieve the goal by using
Bluetooth in case the Wi-Fi is unavailable. Phone Direct can act as a
good business strategy also as it is fast and accurate.

4. THE EXISTING SYSTEM:

The existing systems have the drawback that the files can only be
transferred through a LAN and even the remote access is possible
only through LAN but Phone Direct enables a boon ,that is, the user
can do all this using Bluetooth , in cases where wi-fi is unavailable.
5. HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT:
Software Requirement:
1. SDK
2. JDK 1.8
3. Android Studio 2.1.1
Hardware Requirement:
1. 4GB RAM
2. 64 Bit Operating System
3. Windows 8 and above

E-R DIAGRAM:

This E-R Diagram shows the basic working of a primary file

Explorer. Entities are represented by means of rectangles. Rectangles
are named with the entity set they represent. Attributes are the
properties of entities. Attributes are represented by means of ellipses.
Every ellipse represents one attribute and is directly connected to its
entity. If the attributes are composite, they are further divided in a tree
like structure. Every node is then connected to its attribute. That is,
composite attributes are represented by ellipses that are connected
with an ellipse.

6. LEVEL 0DFD:

This is the Zero-level Data Flow Diagram of the project. A data flow
diagram (DFD) illustrates how data is processed by a system in terms
of inputs and outputs. As its name indicates its focus is on the flow of
information, where data comes from, where it goes and how it gets
stored. Datastores are repositories of data in the system. They are
sometimes also referred to as files. Dataflows are pipelines through
which packets of information flow. Label the arrows with the name of
the data that moves through it. External entities are objects outside the
system, with which the system communicates. External entities are
sources and destinations of the system's inputs and outputs.
7. FUNCTIONS OF THE APPLICATION:
Phone Direct is an application which enables the users to helps
you manage the files on your local Android device .It provides
Android phone users a fully-featured file manager that explores
phones, PCs, and Macs by leveraging LAN, FTP, and Remote
Bluetooth.
It includes all the basic file management functions youd expect
from a file manager, but apart from that it also functions as
application manager, cloud storage client (compatible with
Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and more), FTP client, and
LAN Samba client. Far from being a free and lightweight
mobile app, its quite feature rich compared to other file
manager apps available on Google play.
It does not require a complicated setup.
This application can give you overall information about the
number of images, music, movies, apps, and summary of the

storage used by these contents. It also features shortcuts for

quick access to bookmarks, tools, and network related tools.
Phone Direct Allows you to rename files in bulk on your
Android device.
Phone Direct has a powerful clipboard which allows users to
paste files and folders multiple times.
Phone Direct gives users an option to search files on their device
by keyword or category.
Compressing multiple files into a single ZIP file can be very
convenient. Depending on what youre compressing, it can
significantly shrink the size of the files. If youre storing lots of
files locally on your Android device, compressing them can save
your precious storage space..If you need to send files over a
mobile data connection then compressing them beforehand may
also keep your data usage down. ES File Explorer can create
and open zip files on an Android device easily and once you
start creating zip files on your Android device, you dont have to
rely on your computer
Mainly, Phone Direct allows you to browse Android device files
right from the computer. If your computer and Android device
are in the same WiFi network, then you can manage your device
files wirelessly without a client.

This project, in the near future, can save time as well as effort. It will
place remote access on fingertips. However, the work is still in
progress and has high hopes too.
