Personal Protective Equipment

Hard Hat. This is used in workplace environments such


construction sites to protect the head from injury due to falling
objects, impact with other objects, debris, rain, and electric
shock.

Goggles. These are tight-fitting eye protection that completely


cover the eyes, eye sockets and the facial area immediately
surrounding the eyes and provide protection from impact, dust
and splashes.

Synthetic gloves of various materials offer protection against heat


and cold, are cut - and abrasive - resistant and may withstand
some diluted acids. These materials do not stand up against alkalis
and solvents.

Safety vests are the safety gear necessary to keep personnel visible
to other people especially when working along roads

Coveralls are a one piece garment designed to fit loosely over the
body of a worker from wrists to ankles, and sometimes comes with a
hood as well. They are designed from sturdy material that can
withstand the rigors of the work environment.

Earplugs are designed to provide protection, comfort and ease of


use. The level at which employers must provide earplugs is 85
decibels (daily or weekly average exposure) and the level at which
employers must assess the risk to their workforce health, and
provide them with information and training, is 80 decibels.

Safety shoe is a durable shoe that has a protective reinforcement


in the toe which protects the foot from falling objects or
compression, usually combined with a mid-sole plate to protect
against punctures from below.
