Pattern Notes
In working this pattern, cut the yarn with each
color change, and tie the tails in a knot to
secure. Tie all knots on the WS of work.
To join using a sl st, do the following:
* insert hook into next st on first side, insert hook into
next st on second side, wrap the yarn over hook,
and pull through both sts and loop on hook.

Hanger Cover
In this pattern, you will use 5 colors of yarn (MC,
A, B, C and D).
Measure the circumference and length of your
hanger in inches.
Circumference = ___ Length = ___
To begin, calculate the number of stitches you
need for your hanger (a). a= circumference x 4
With MC, ch a+1
Row 1: Turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each
st across (a)
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st (a)
Rows 5-6: With A, ch 1, turn. Sc in each st (a)
Rows 7-9: With B, ch 1, turn. Sc in each st (a)
Rows 10-11: With MC, ch 1, turn.
Sc in each st (a)
Rows 12-14: With C, ch 1, turn. Sc in each st (a)
Rows 15-16: With D, ch 1, turn. Sc in each st (a)

Rows 17-20: With MC, ch 1, turn.


Sc in each st (a)
Repeat rows 5-20 until length is 1 shorter than
the length of your hanger.
Fasten off, and tie knots on WS.
Heart Pattern (optional)
Top of heart (make 2)
With MC, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 times in 2nd ch from hook (6)
Rnd 2: Sc twice in each st (12)
Rnds 3-4: Sc in each st (12)
Fasten off one top, and do not fasten off the
second.

With the hanger in place, cont joining the two
sides around the hook. (yes, this is a bit
awkward, but the only way to get the hanger
stuck inside!). Cont until entire hanger is
enclosed.
Fasten off, pulling ends inside.

Body of heart
Rnd 5: Sc in each st of first top of heart, then sc
in each st of second (24)
Rnd 6: Sc in each st (24)
At this point, you may notice a small hole in
between where the two tops were joined.
To fix this, simply take a small piece of MC,
and tie up hole.
Rnd 7: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts. Rep from * 5
times (18)
Rnd 8: Sc in each st (18)
Rnd 9: *Sc2tog, sc in next st.
Rep from * 5 times (12)
Rnd 10: Sc in each st (12)
Insert small amount of stuffing.
Rnd 11: *Sc2tog. Rep from * 5 times (6)
Rnd 12: Sc in each st (6)
Rnd 13: Sc next and 4th st tog. (1)
Fasten off, weave in tail.
Assembly
Hold your crocheted piece so that the length is
horizontal, and fold in half horizontally, with fold
at bottom.
Beg in the lower right corner, join MC, and sl st
tog each st along the sides, and cont along the
top. (see pattern notes).
Cont joining with sl st until halfway along the
length. At this point, you need to insert the
hanger into the part you just worked. The hook
