Explain the parts of the computer


o Monitor- un dispositivo (device) de salida que muestra datos a
informacin (pieces of information) de usuario
o Teclado- un perifrico de entrada o dispositivo que sirve para
escribir y que se comunica al CPU
o Mouse- un dispositivo apuntador utilizado para facilitar el
manejo de un entorno grfico en una computadora.
o CPU- Es el principal del ordenador que interpreta las
instrucciones contenidas en los programas y procesa los datos.
Es la parte ms importante de una computadora, en su interior
se guarda informacin, se realizan operaciones y ms.
Have them draw each piece with a few words of explanation to them.
o Tercero wrote short definitions of Monitor and CPU (in
cuaderno)
Monitor/Pantalla- muestra la informacin de la
computadora
CP-U tiene todo la informacin de la computadora
o Segundo wrote just the words with the drawings (I
believe)

I re-explained how to close a program and then had them work in


paint while I came around to see each person close their programit
was a little crazy

2do- Copied basic instructions and tried to draw in the computer.
3ro- Didnt come in - sick.
4 de Julio: Dibujar con formas en Paint

I drew and colored a whole picture in front of them to show them how
to draw and color with shapes in Paint.
Everyone started their pictures but it wasnt super productive and
they didnt just draw with shapes

They copied the picture that they had to draw on the computer (a
house and a tree all made out of shapes) and created it in Paint
I drew an example in front of them so they remembered exactly what
to do
They did a great job. Almost everyone knew what to do. (I went
around and graded for an evaluation grade)

The most popular question with paint is how to make the


eraser (borrador) bigger. (CTRL + +)- you can even give this
to them as a class lesson one day

June 9: Review parts of the computer and the main buttons of the keyboard.

Go around to each student and tell them to either use SHIFT or


BLOQMAYUS on the keyboard. Maybe enter and tab as well.
Practice using Shift and Bloq Mayus (show example on the keyboard)

4th grade worked a lot last year in Microsoft


Word and have practiced writing their name in
different colors and sizes and fonts numerous
times (although some of them STILL dont
know what they are doing!). They can
continue in Word for a while I think. They
need practice typing and still need to really
learn how each button works.

utilizada para realizer formulas matemticas y clculos aritmticos
exhaustivos, o simplemente bases de datos.
What the main components are called (p. 36 in Haciendo Clic 6)
o Ficha Archivo, Barra de Frmulas, Columna, Celda, Filas,

o Show them excel on this computer and then have them draw it
in their cuadernos.
o If they finish drawing, they can go to a computer and open it up
so that they can see how it all works

They spent a solid chunk of the year last year using PP,
but some still really dont know it wellit might be very
repetitive for some but helpful for others to go back to it
(most probably forget how to use it anyway).
It would be cool if they had to create a short project for
class and had to present it (with the new projector??!!)
Microsoft Word
Maybe go over how to write a formal paper / practice
typing with all of your fingers.
I dont believe they ever learned Spell Check
