1.

PRAYER
Pranam, Ladies and gentlemen, a warm good afternoon to one and all present here. It
gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to our fourth Annual day meet.
To begin this auspicious occasion, may I invite our school choir to invoke the almighty
by prayer song. I request all of you to stand for invocation.
2. WELCOME ADDRESS
I now call upon Master Vijay and Master AniruthRenganathan to deliver the welcome
speech.

3. FLAG HOISTING
Till 15th August 1947, we were under the British rule and we got independence on
15th August 1947. So we all of us must show obedience and loyalty to the national flag. It
is time to welcome our chief guest Thiru H H Rajah RajagopalThondaiman to inaugurate
the ceremony by hoisting our national flag.
OATH TAKING
It is time to swear. The Olympic oath is taken by our school champion Master Suriya
Kumar to abide the rules and regulations to participate in the sports with the true spirit of
sportsmanship.
Thank you Suriyakumar. The oath was taken solemnly.
NATIONAL ANTHEM
With national anthem we wind up the programme. I request everybody to rise for the
national anthem.
OLYMPIC TORCH
The torch and the Olympic flame are two of the greatest symbols of Olympics. I request
the chief guest to light the Olympic torch.
Here are our _____ glorious students who have brought name and fame to our school and
has got a remarkable place in sports field.
The Olympic torch is carried by our school champion boy Master Suriyakumar. He is a
district winner and selected for state level in long jump.
In school, he has won 1st place in individual 400 mts running race.
The Olympic torch is handed over to Master Anup Shankar. He is a state level chess
champion. He also played several matches and won many prizes.
Now Anu is receiving the Olympic torch along with Subasri, Prathiksha, Smruthi,
Gayathri and Srivarsha. They got placed 4th in CBSE state level kho-kho. Their
competent performances helped them to secure the lucrative positions.
Our School Champion Prathika obtains the torch from Anu. She is one of the active and
talented students. She is a state and district level kho-kho player. She is awarded the

overall championship in school as she has bagged prizes for shot put, long jump, kabadi
and kho-kho.
Now the Olympic flame will be lit by Suriya Kumar and Prathika.
The flame shines brightly.
DECLARING THE SPORTS MEET OPEN
Now we would like to invite our Guest of Honour to officiate the sports meet open.
SPORTS EVENTS
Here are our athletes to compete with high spirits while demonstrating their best team
spirit and sportsmanship. I request the audience to join us in encouraging the participants.
I request our mam MrsAnuradha and MrsSudha to take over.
4 MARCH PAST
Procession of prefects and members of four houses with their placards and flags, which
connotes, that all the houses are going to compete for the trophy with their best march
past.
The march begins briskly with the Head boy of Sri Vageesha Master SravanaDesikan and
head girl Selvi Mridula. As they pass the saluting base they turn their heads towards
delegates.
They are followed by Sathyakaman house. The placard holder is Master Dhiwakar and
flag bearer is Master Vijay.
The Mythreyan houses placard holder is Master Bharath Krishna and flag bearer is Miss
Sneha.
The Nachiketas houses placard holder is Miss Sonaliand flag bearer is Miss Akshaya.
The Upakosalan houses placard holder is Master Deepan Prasad and flag bearer is
Master.Rathnesh
The next on parate is Scouts and Guides. It is led by the placard holder Master Sri Raj
Gopalan and the flag is held by Master PakshiRajan.
8. we would like to appreciate each of our finalists for their excellent performances and
dedicated efforts. You have truly been so fantastic throughout the games. We request all

Every journey has its end and every path does stop somewhere. Your support and
enduring commitment has made this event so splendid and successful
I call upon Miss Jeyalakshmi of class 7 to deliver the vote of thanks.
PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

This day is a much awaited day in every students life, as it gives the returns to the effort
put in by them. It gives a sense of achievement and responsibility towards fulfilling
further commitments. Lets acknowledge them with prizes. Here are the names of the
winners and runner-ups of various game activities.
KARATE
Ran: Do you want to be the best?

Abi: here are our karate masters who can protect us from any kind of danger.
Mri : Kata is the formation of techniques which help us to instill confidence, will power,
good memory and concentration. Sound physical fitness promotes increased absorption
of nutrients, better functioning of digestion and all round fitness.
1. Master Pakshirajan is going to do Chang Quan Kata.

Master SashankKoundiya is here to demonstrate Nan quan kata.

Master Vishwa, master vishnuchandran and Vijayasarathy are going to show Team
Kata. It helps us to get team spirit and excellent concentration

Black belt kata is being performed by Akash. this kata aid everyone to remember
nearly 60 to 70 movements. So it is called as Super NP
5. Weapon kata enriches personality and gives strength and braveness.
a. Vishnuchandran performs Bo kata. Bo means bamboo.
b. Vijayasarathy is doing Sword kata
c. Vishwa is here to do Double Chank
d. Pakshirajan for his sword kata.
GROUP DISPLAY

Mridula: why do you use water bottles?
Abirami: to drink water.
Mri: here are our 4 and 5 class students use amazing props to use it in their drills.These
drills are designed to work on foot and can be helpful in developing skills for a multitude
of sports including football and basketball.
Abi: oh, really. Let us watch the group display.
DANCE
when people are down and depressed, songs and dance help them to renew strength and
energy. Let us now revive ourselves with a dance.
MASS DRILL

Impressive displays put up by class 8 and 9 uniformed students with tumbles and
synchronizing free hand claps. These drills usually focus on skills needed to play
different sporting activities such as speed, balance and sharp reflexes.
PYRAMID
Abi :can you make a pyramid using cards?
Mri: No, no, I am fed up, because it always slips down.
Abi: do you want to see a pyramid now?
Mri: yes,
Abi : yes, you can. Students of class 8 and 10 are here to show their energy, enthusiasm
and teamwork for a wonderful display of Pyramid. I request the audience to encourage
the students who are going to challenge themselves by moving with greater speed
through the formation. Now all of you are going to witness the performance which is the
culmination of weeks of arduous training.
Well done friends.

A warm and pleasant evening to all those who are present here. If there are no stars,there
wont be any beauty in the sky. If there is no difference of opinions there wont be any
creative and innovative ideas. Similarly if there is no Annual Function in our school,
there wont be any chance for our young and dynamic children to uphold the pride of the
institute, to catalogue the challenges we face, the endeavors we made andthe success we
achieved and to show what we were, what we are and what we will be.Here am I hence,
much privileged to stand before you, to extend profound wishes andgreetings from the
bottom of my heart, to bring the warmth of our affection, throughthe stream of love, to
welcome each and every one of you.It is time for yet another day of the year to exhibit
the talents of all our children, to bring to your kind notice their academic excellence, and
the medals they bagged intheir outstanding performance in spots, and the grades they
achieved in extracurricular activities, and in everything they speak and perform today as

INTRODUCING THE CHIEF GUEST
I am profuse elated to take an opportunity to introduce our chief guest of the day Rev.Dr.
N. Ravichandran, the director of the IIM Indore. He is graduated from IIMMadras in
1980 with specialization in Applied Probability. He joined IIM Ahemdabadas faculty in
Production and Quantitative Method Area in 1980.His teaching and research interest
include Applied Probability, Business ProcessReengineering, Competitive Strategy, IT for
Competitive Advantage, Logistics andSupply Chain Management, Operation Strategy,

Quantitative Methods inManagement, Simulation and Stochastic Modeling.He had held


several short term visiting positions in many European Universities. Hehas edited and coauthored 6 books, presented 80 research papers in national andinternational conference,
70 research publications in peer reviewed journals andauthored 40 management cases. He
has designed 8 new executive courses at IIMAhemdabad and introduced 7 electives in the
PGA program of IIM Ahemdabad.Several companies in India and in abroad as well have
sought his expertise, to evolve,tailor made executive programme, in the areas of general
management, business process reengineering, information technology as a source of
advantage, competitivestrategy, supply chain management, logistics, operation
management and strategicsourcing.Since Nov. 2008, he is the director of the IIM Indore.
