to be answered in the paper. On each unit there will be a question
either a long answer type or a short answer type.

The subjects of examination shall be as under For the b. xiE M-1 (B.A. Part-I) Examination (i) Any one of the following compulsory Languages;
namely (a) Modern Indian Languages :- Marathi, Hindi,
Urdu, Telugu, Bengali, Gujrathi or
Supplementary English.
OR
(b) Classical Languages :- Sanskrit, Persian,
Arabic, Pali & Prakrit and Supplementary
English or Latin.
(c) Modern European Languages :- French,
German or Russian.
(ii) Compulsory English;
(iii) Any three of the following subjects, namely;

than 45% of such marks shall be placed in the Second Division and

evaluate each participant examinee on the bases of his/
her initiative . confidence. pronunciation and fluency.
Logical argument. appropriate vocabulary . timely
response and understanding of the topic.
$ There shall be separate passing for theory and viva-voce

$ External examinee shall appear for viva-voce Examination
from any affiliated college of S.G.B.Amravati University,

PHYSICALGEOGRAPHY-1
(Elements of Geomorphology)
The Examination in Georgaphy will comprise of one Theory
paper and one Practical Theory paper shall be of Three Hours duration
and shall carry 70 Marks. The practical examination shall be of Three
Hourse duration and shall carry 30 marks
The following syllabus is prescribed on the basis of four leactures
per week and one practical of two periods for each batch 20 students

The nature and scope of Geography. General concept of
Earth s origin and its rotation and revolution.

Interior of the Earth and Its movements: Orogenic and
eporgenic.
Earthquake and Volcanoes.
Unit - III
Rocks: Origin, classification and characteristics.
Wathering
Soil: Formation and types.
Unit - IV
Geomorphic agents: The work of streams. Cycle of
erosion and drainage pattern. Landscape associated
with: Glacier and eoilon.
Unit - V
Application of geomorphology to human activities:
Settlements, transport. Environmental hazards: flood,
earth quake & desertification & assessment.
