Course Description
This compulsory course, which is a prerequisite for English Prose, Poetry and Drama provide
students with the opportunity to explore the basic concepts of, the nature of, the function of,
and the basic approaches to literature.
Course Objective
This course aims at introducing the students the definition of literature, different kinds of
literary works (genre), the structural elements of a literary works and giving the students the
basic skills for appreciating and analyzing a literary works.
Course content
The course contains some basic knowledge of literature, for example the definition of
literature, literary genres, the elements of fiction and plays.
Learning Approaches
Cooperative Learning Approach that focus on student-centered activities (this approach
aimed at increasing students sense and interest in comprehending and appreciating literary
works and its contents).
Evaluation:
The students grade will be determined based on the following aspects:
