Inspirer: Pramukh Swmi Mhrj

INTRODUCTION
P.P. Swamishris birthday celebration this past December was a
special occasion, not only because it was our Guruharis birthday,
but also because it was the launch of his shatabdi celebrations. To
ignite the flame of bhakti within each satsangi, we recently have
pledged Yog Yagna niyams to commemorate the unique opportunity
of celebrating our Gurus 100th birthday in his presence. However,
as the North American Satsang Mandal we are also engaged in the
collective effort of completing the Akshardham Mahamandir in
Robbinsville, NJ to offer as a gift to P.P. Swamishri during this once
in a lifetime occasion.

Small Hands
Big Hearts

An Akshardham Mahamandir in North America has been a dream of

Pramukh Swami Maharajs since 1998 when the search for a
suitable location was formally initiated. For the past 18 years,
haribhakto have been offering their seva and bhakti for this project
through tan (physically), man (mentally), and dhan (financially).
Through P.P. Swamishris grace, the project has been materializing
and now the North American Satsang Mandal as a whole will have
the opportunity to be a part of this gift for our guru.

WHAT IS THE SMALL HANDS, BIG HEARTS

PROJECT?
Over the next five years, the Small Hands, Big Hearts Project is
intended to raise awareness about the North American Akshardham,
while at the same time providing our Balaks/Balikas &
Kishores/Kishoris the opportunity to strengthen their jodaan with
Swamishri by offering monetary sacrifices for the cause. The success
of this project directly correlates with Sanyukta/Mahila Mandal
involvement. We are requesting Sanyukta/Mahila Karyakars to raise
awareness within their centers so that parents can support their
children towards this effort.
For example, if a new model of the iPhone is released and a
Balak/Balika or Kishore/Kishori decides to forgo purchasing the latest
model so that he/she can donate the money for Akshardham instead,

then this would be a prime example of the type of sacrifice we are

hoping the parents can ignite within their children.
Karyakars will not collect any amount raised by Balaks/Balikas &
Kishores/Kishoris. Instead, Karyakars should guide them to give any
monetary sacrifices to their parents who will be donating for
Akshardham three times throughout the year as a family:
Swaminarayan Jayanti, Guru Purnima, and Guru Hari Jayanti

HOW WILL WE IGNITE THE SPIRIT TO SACRIFICE?

Multimedia content such as posters & videos will be created and

presented specifically for this project.
There will be three sabha presentations incorporated to the
syllabus, specifically created to instill the satsang principles that
will not only physically build the Akshardham Mahamandir, but
also help each individual on their journey of constructing their
chaitanya mandirs.
The dates for these sabhas are April 24th, July 31st, and
November 24th. These presentations will replace one of the
syllabus presentations.

OUR MESSAGE

Our main goal as kishore and kishori karyakars will be to

encourage kishores and kishoris to sacrifice any luxuries they
can spare in the service of P.P. Swamishris dream.
Through these three sabha presentations and the bonds we form
with the kishores and kishoris, we should aim to remind them
about how this Mahamandir is our gift to P.P. Swamishri for his
100th birthday and how it can help us in our personal sadhana.

FAQS

How can each family collect money together?

o Each family can create a bachat khumb, similar to a
piggy bank, where all family members can put any
monetary sacrifices into the bachat khumb. Then during
the 3 times throughout the year, the mothers can bring
the bachat khumb to Mandir and donate it to the
accounting office. Since we will be collecting money

separately by mandal, each child should have their own

bachat khumb.
Will the bachat khumb be provided?
o No, each family should try to create their own bachat
khumb, whether it is in a form of an envelope or piggy
bank
What are the three times throughout the year that the mothers
should bring all donation?
o Swaminarayan Jayanti, Guru Purnima, and Guru Hari
Jayanti
What if a kishore/kishori comes to a karyakar with their money
for Akshardham?
o The Karyakars should explain to the kishore/kishori that
they should give the money to their mothers or place it in
the bachat khumb.
What if a kishore/kishoris parents do not come to Mandir, then
how can they donate?
o This should be treated case by case. The
Sanchalak/Sanchalika & PC should discuss with the
Mahila
Coordinator/Mahila
Admin
how
the
bal/balika/kishore/kishori can donate within their center.
o If the balak/balika/Kishore/kishori is unable to give the
collected amount to his/her mother, it should be given to
the parents coordinators, and then to Mahila Admin (if
turned in by the eSide) to be turned into the SHBH-POC.
The money and amount should be clearly labeled with
full name and mandal.
