Broad typology of Thesis


[Students should outline the nature and typology of the proposed Architectural Thesis, like Study-based, Design
based or Study and Design-based]
Aim
[Students should briefly mention the aim of the chosen Thesis topic, based on the expected outcome.
For instance, if the chosen topic is Topic no. 2 given above, then the aim may be, To complement the sports
facility of Vijayawada and Krishna district by proposing a multi-facility sports complex and ensure better
occupancy and augment the existing facility.
OR
If the chosen topic is Topic no. 1 given above, then the aim may be, To develop a sustainable housing design
envelope for the areas affected by the recent earthquake, through vernacular approach and the approach of
which can be replicated for any given rehabilitation housing scenario]
Prologue / Justification of the Topic
[Students should present a background of the premise of chosen thesis topic so as to establish the context and
thereby justify the selection of the Thesis topic, also mentioning if it is a hypothetical or live project and need for
such proposed project.]
Objectives
[Students should enlist a set of objectives, which shall help in formulating Scope and Limitations of the proposed
study undertaken as part of the Architectural Thesis]
Proposed Site
[Students should present details of the proposed Site, viz., location, size/area, orientation, site map,
surroundings, key linkages with reference to the landmarks of the town/city. Students should only choose a site
which physically exists so as to enable evaluation of the context.]
Scope of Work and Limitations
[Students should clearly outline the Scope of Work as well as limitations in order to define the depth of study as
well as desired outcome and to enable evaluation of students accordingly.]
Requirements
[Students should enlist the set of requirements which shall be designed as part of Architectural Thesis. The list
may be tentative which can be modified during the course of study, but before the second review.]
Methodology
[Students should evolve and present the key milestones or stages of study chronologically, in order to relate the
progress of study as well as to clarify the appropriateness to the evaluator at every stage of the Thesis. In better
interest of the study, the methodology can be modified, only to aid appreciation of the details mentioned therein.]
Case Studies
[Students should enlist the proposed Case Studies by clearly substantiating the appropriateness of the choice.]
Conclusion
[Students should summarise the overall content of the Synopsis and conclude herein]
