10 Step 3D TRASAR Maintenance Plan

Step 1: Check All Relays

Put each relay in the Manual On position at the 3D Control Screen.

Verify that the control device has been activated.
Put each control relay in the Manual Off position at the 3D Control Screen.
Verify that each control device has deactivated.

Step 2: Turn Off Flow

Close each inlet and outlet ball valve.

Step 3: Clean & Inspect Strainer & Probes

Remove and clean the basket strainer.

Remove the Conductivity, pH, and ORP probes and wipe clean.
NCM probes do not need to be cleaned!
Remove the flow switch cap and wipe clean the flow switch.
Brush the fluorometer flow cell

Step 4: Replace Strainer & Probes

Re-install strainer, flow switch, and conductivity probe.

Re-install (or replace with new) the pH and ORP probes depending on replacement schedule.
Replace the NCM probes with new probes depending on schedule.
Replace fluorometer desicant if needed.

Step 5: Calibrate any NEW Probes

Complete a 2-point calibration for pH and ORP probes using the appropriate solutions.
Complete a 3-point calibration for Conductivity probes using the appropriate solutions.
NCM probes do not require calibration.

Step 6: Calibrate the Fluorometer

Follow the calibration procedures in the manual or on the 3D Controller screen.

Use the appropriate solutions.

Step 7: Re-establish Flow & Verify

Open the inlet and outlet ball valves.

Open the Fluorometer shut-off valve.
Visually verify flow at the flow indicator and flow switch.
Verify flow has been established at the controller.

Step 8: Check For Leaks

Check all fittings and probes for leaks.

Fix any leaks that occur.

Step 9: Do 1-Point Calibrations

Perform a 1-Point calibration for the conductivity, pH, and ORP probes.

Step 10: Put Pumps Back in Auto

VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!

Make sure pumps are back in Auto.

Best Practices
10 Step Maintenance Frequency
Maintenance frequency is very system dependent.
Once per month is most common.
Once per week for heavily fouled systems.
Once per quarter for clean systems.

Probe Replacement Frequency

Conductivity probe (only when needed)
pH probe (every 6 months)
ORP probe (every 6 months)
NCM probes (every 3 to 4 months)

Pellet Feeder Maintenance

Keep hopper dry and dust free to help prevent pellet jams (check each visit)
Clean the exit tube to keep the optical sensor path clear (perform when needed)
Tighten the valve seat to reduce leakage through the drain (perform when needed)
-Turn the adjustment nut clockwise to tighten the valve seat (typically 1/8 to1/4 turn).
Do not over-tighten!
-Replace valve and manually feed a pellet (use the controller diagnostic screen).
The value for Ball should be between 400 and 600.
Replace the pellet shield after extended use (>50,000 pellets)
Replace or rebuild ball valve (perform annually)
-Pellets can cause seats and o-rings to wear.
-Replacement ball valve Part#
-Ball Valve Rebuild Kit Part # 060-TR5326.88
-Refer to Handout for rebuild instructions
