Laminated papers (incomplete fact family)
Laminated papers (empty)
small boards

Key vocabulary/ Target Language

Division
multiplication
facts family
array
dividend
divisor
factor
Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)
Revising Multiplication by give them multiplication operations and ask them to answer on their small
boards
Each Student will use her small board to write the answer then raise it to show the teacher
Ask
Do you know the relationship between multiplication and division?
How did you know?
Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)
Start the lesson by give them real life example

Small
Time: 35 min
Guided Experience: 10 min Independent Experiences: 25 min

Whole
Time: 5 min

Preparation (what do you need to do/make before class?)

Make sure that (understand, plan, solve and check) strategy
is on the board and there is a small board for each student.
Also the name cards.
Prepare the materials and the PowerPoint.

Let the students think and receive answers from them (ask them about the strategy that they will use)
Make array by using Laminated papers (squares) to make fact family collection.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1)
Low level:
Give them a word problem linked to the science curriculum which is I went to a park. I saw 6 butterflies. I
know that each one has 6 legs. How many legs that all of them have?
The teacher will give each pair using the manipulative (small disks) to make array then make fact family
using Laminated papers (incomplete fact family)
Theyll have to make array to solve the problem and make the fact family.

Independent Experience(small group activity 2)

Middle level:
Give them a word problem linked to the science curriculum which is I went to a park. I saw 6 butterflies. I
know that each one has 6 legs. How many legs that all of them have?
The teacher will give each pair Laminated papers (incomplete fact family) to make fact family using the
markers and the given numbers in the word problem.
Theyll have to make array to solve the problem and make the fact family.
Theyll use their small board to draw the array
Theyll not have (manipulative)
Independent Experience(small group activity 3)
High level:
Give them a word problem linked to the science curriculum which is I went to a park. I saw 6 butterflies. I
know that each one has 6 legs. How many legs that all of them have?

Whole
Time:
5 min

The teacher will give each pair Laminated papers (empty) to make fact family using the markers and the
given numbers in the word problem.
Theyll have to make array to solve the problem and make the fact family.
Theyll not have (incomplete fact family) and (manipulative)
Closing
The teacher will revise the lesson and ask students about what theyve learned today.

Assessment
Walking around while the students are working and see if they understood or not
Ask them WHY and HOW questions to check their understanding

Reflection:

The preparation of the lesson and activities went well, because I bring all materials and
organized well but my lesson plan was too long with repeated details. If I will give this
lesson again I will do more activities because I only gave the students one activity which
make the lesson a bit boring. Also, I would like to make the lesson students centre
instead of teachers centre because I talked and explained more than what students did.
The children learned how to make the arrays. I knew that because when I was observing
them, I saw them make the arrays correctly.
In the future I will prepare more activities and Ill let the students discover the concept.
