Experiment Background: We have been studying different environmental issues that affect our world.

Air
Pollution is one major issue that affects us everyday. We will use an internet site to learn more about air
pollution. When our investigation is finished, you will create a brochure about air pollution and what
people can do to help eliminate the air pollution they help create.
Activity Instructions: Go to the following web site and follow the instructions on the site called Air
Pollution Emissions Information, Activities and Data. A copy of the site page is attached to this
handout.

Project Instructions: Your task is to create a brochure that explains air pollution and ways people can
help reduce air pollution. You will be responsible to answer several questions related to the facts you
put in your brochure.
Criteria:

1. Brochure should give a detailed explanation of air pollution.


2. Brochure should explain the 1990 Clean Air Act
3. Brochure should discuss sources that are the main contributors to emissions.
4. Brochure should discuss ways people can help reduce air pollution.
5. Brochure should have no grammatical mistakes.
6. Brochure should have attractive formatting. (See Examples)
7. Brochure should have well-organized information.
8. Student should be able to answer questions related to the facts in the brochure.
