After printing, the goods are dried then steamed for 45-60 minutes at 100C. When steaming prints on wool
maximum yields can be obtained under moist steaming conditions, if unsaturated steam is used or the steam
dries out during steaming, unlevelled prints and poor yields may result. To guard against this you can
condition the printed fabric prior to steaming, by hanging in a cool damp room for several hours.
Another method is to steam for 30 minutes, remove steamer and allow fabric to condition in a cool damp room
before steaming for the final 30 minutes.
WHEN PROCESSING NATURAL SILK THESE PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT USUALLY NECESSARY.
After steaming, prints should be rinsed thoroughly in cold water.
A rinse in METAPEX 26 at 1-2% at 40C for 10-20 minutes can usually be beneficial, especially when requiring
brighter shades.
NOTE: When using fabrics which have not been prepared for dyeing and printing, it is always recommended
to pre-scour fabric in a solution of METAPEX 26.

After printing, the goods are dried, steamed for 10-15 minutes in steam that is as air free as possible, then
washed well in cold water. The goods should not be allowed to lie about wet because of the risk of staining the
discharged portions consequent upon slight bleeding of ground shades.
