EXPERIMENT#4:
To Determine The Acceleration Due To Gravity Near The
Earths Surface
THEORY
In this experiment the gravitational acceleration is discussed. The
value of g is independent of mass. The gravitational pull of earth
is different on different locations, which are shown below;

LOCATION

Value, m/s2

At the equator
At the poles
Over ellipsoid

9.78036
9.83208
9.7978

The value of g is maximum at the center of the earth.

ANALYSIS & OBSERVATIONS:

The value of g is independent of its mass. The acceleration due
to the gravity does not vary due to height. The graph of its equation
is a curve due to the quadratic factor but the graph of motion
equation is liner

Linear

Quadratic

APPLICATIONS:
Explains how air resistance makes objects of different masses
with different accelerations
Used to study parabola
Used to measure pull of the earths gravitation.
