(12-16 DECEMBER 2016)

THE LANGUAGE OF TECHNICAL COMPUTATION

ABOUT MATLAB
MATLAB is a high-level language for
scientific and engineering computations.
It is highly productive software for
engineers to analyze data, develop
algorithms, to create models or to
perform simulations. It provides an
environment which invites exploration
and discovery.

been made as a part of PST. We have

already completed two cycles of training
during the academic year 2015-16, in
which around 300 students were trained
on Programming and Simulation in
MATLAB.
Five Day CERTIFICATE program with
a great scope to learn, connect,
experiment and experience the power of
MATLAB.

Millions of engineers and scientists

worldwide use MATLAB to analyze
and design the systems and products
transforming our world. The MATLAB
platform is optimized for solving
engineering and scientific problems. The
matrix-based MATLAB language is the
worlds most natural way to express
computational mathematics. Built-in
graphics make it easy to visualize and
gain insights from data.
MATLAB in recent years has gained a
lot of popularity throughout the
engineering
community.
Many
engineering schools now require a course
based entirely on MATLAB early in the
curriculum. In most of the universities,
MATLAB has replaced FORTRAN for
teaching programming principals.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING

To make the students familiar with the
main features of MATLAB integrated
design environment and its user
interfaces.
To provide hands on experience on
Data processing and visualizations
through 2D and 3D plotting.
To provide the knowledge of creating
flexible code that can interact with the
user, make decisions and adapt to
different situations.
To make students appreciate the
difference between Symbolic and
Numerical Computations.
To train the students in tools for
solving differential equations.
To provide Hands on experience in
simulation of dynamical systems using
MATLAB SIMULINK.

STUDENT FEEDBACK
Around 300 students from various programs
of CoES were trained in this program. In their
feedback, the students expressed their
satisfaction in all the components of training
including the expertise of the trainers, quality
of the study material and worksheets
provided.
Most of the students opted and completed
their regular academic projects using
MATLAB.
