1. Apply relevant HRM principles, processes and theories in selecting,
developing and motivating employees to support the delivery of
quality outcomes. (LO2)
2. Appraise diverse human resource policies, practices and activities that
are embraced by domestic and international organisations to deliver
their workforce plans. (LO3)
3. Explain the strategies and practices which are vital to build
employment competencies for self and others in line with
organisational, economic, technological, legislation, social and
cultural requirements. (LO4)

Purpose
This group project aims to allow students to work in teams and assess human resource
management function in a specific industry and propose the best practice of human resource
policy.
Instructions
1. Form a team with FIVE (5) or SIX (6) members.
2. Each team is required to choose ONE (1) industry and choose ONE (1) organisation
from the selected industry. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of any ONE (1) of the
components below:

Performance Management and Appraisal
Compensation and Benefits
Based on the analysis, develop best practice of human resource policy as your
recommendations for the organisation. You may choose any organisation in or out from
Malaysia.
3. You may choose primary or secondary approach to collect the information/data. Primary
approach is conducting interview with any company in Malaysia. Secondary approach is
searching information from case study, news article, textbooks.
4. Please take note that your industry selection cannot be the same with the other group in
the same class. Therefore, please submit your industry selection early to avoid others
taking your preference.
5. Submission of the group project report shall be during your group presentation day.
6. Please submit 4 documents in an envelope: group assignment report with standard
cover page, group project report assessment, hard copy of slides presentation and
group presentation evaluation.
7. Presentation session shall start on Week 12. Duration of presentation is 15 minutes
inclusive of Q&A session.
8. All group members MUST contribute your time, effort and ideas in preparing the report
and participate in the presentation. Write your task at the cover page on the column given,
Failure to involve and cooperate in either tasks, shall have zero mark (0%) on the specific
task.
