TUBING INTRODUCTION
PORT PLASTICS sells a wide variety of tubing products made from a broad
range of polymers. These products are capable of conveying the vast range
of liquids used in the industrial, laboratory, food handling, medical and
biotechnical fields.
Products are available which are designed to handle higher pressures,
temperatures and harsh chemicals. Some products, such as certain PTFE
tubing products, are available with inside diameters approaching the size of
a human hair.
Many of PORT PLASTICS tubing products can be customized to meet the
needs of a specific application. Custom marked, colored, or striped products
can be supplied. Multi layered tubing products are available to combine key
properties of different resins.
Port Plastics is pleased to feature the complete range of standard Tygon
Tubing in formulations designed and product description. In addition Port
Plastics offers lower cost generic PVC tubing where performance is not
critical.
The following is a partial list of polymers available as tubing:

Clear, flexible, tubing recommended for dialysis, drainage, irrigation, artificial kidneys and similar applications.
Tested for cytotoxicity (MEM Elution Method), Tygon
Biocompatible Tubing is an excellent choice for certain cell
culture applications. Tubing has flex life greater than that of
rubber. Dense, smooth bore provides outstanding flow
characteristics. Can be autoclaved or sterilized with steam,
radiation or chemicals. Tubing ends are heat sealed to
prevent contamination in shipment. Complies with Federal
Specifications L-T-790 A, Type I for medical applications.
Durometer hardness: Shore A, 64.

Pharmed Tubing
For Peristaltic Pumps and Cell Culture
Outlasts silicone tubing in peristaltic pumps by up to 30 times
Can be autoclaved repeatedly
Heat weldable for sterile access in closed systems
Documented biocompatibility to the ISO 10993 Standard
Meets USP Class VI, FDA and NSF criteria
PharMed Tubing is less permeable to gases and
vapors than silicone tubing. It is ideal for cell
culture, fermentation, synthesis, separation,
purification and process monitoring and control.
Independent tests show that PharMed Tubing is
safe for use in sensitive cell culture applications.
PharMed Tubing has very good general chemical resistance and excellent acid, alkali and
oxidation resistance. Opaque to visible and UV
light, it helps protect sensitive fluids. Continuous
service temperature range is -60F (-51C) to
275F (135C).

FEP - Tubing
CHEMFLUOR FEP TUBING & ROD
FEP is a fluoropolymer with excellent physical and chemical properties. It can withstand
low cryogenic temperatures, and has low porosity and low permeation. Chemically inert
at extreme temperatures, Chemfluor FEP can operate in temperatures ranging from 454F to 400F.
The materials transparency and weatherability make it ideal for use in sight gauges,
especially when used with harsh chemicals.

PFA - Tubing
CHEMFLUOR PFA TUBING
Chemfluor PFAs stress crack resistance, excellent electrical properties and
temperature-resistant properties make it ideal for use in cable coating, valve and pump
linings, and insulating bushings. Chemfluor PFA, which can operate in temperatures
ranging from -320F to 500F, is chemically inert and virtually non-porous. Used in any
application with high heat and chemical requirements, Chemfluor PFAs non-stick
characteristics promote ease of movement of viscous, aggressive compounds, and
prevent binding of proteins.
PRODUCT FEATURES
Chemically inert
Temperature-resistant
Ozone-, UV- and weather-resistant

Polypropylene -Pipe
ACUTECH POLYPROPYLENE PIPE, SCHEDULE 40 & 80
Pipe made from this resin is strong and has very good chemical resistance. Fittings (not
currently available from Acutech) can be attached by a variety of methods, including
socket fusion and IR welding. Copolymer resin is used to manufacture pipe up to a 6
size. This gives the material additional impact resistance, making it less brittle. Larger
pipe is made from a homopolymer resin for improved I.D. surface. Flame-retardant, UV
stable and static dissipative pipe is available on a custom basis.
