with others to create new and better solutions. Habit 7 is Sharpen the Saw of staying sharp
physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Habit 3 baby steps is to use the summary chart and teach the concepts to with a friend,
classmate, or family member. Take a week long screen free challenge such as go seven days
without TV, games, and social networks and only use phone for important calls and vital
information by using computer for homework. Get out of comfort zone and get to know your
professor. When youre in a car or bus turn off the headset to think about your life goals. The end
of the week, sit down to plan next week. Stop losing your keys and put them in a designated
place. Say no to something and someone that will take you off your top priorities. Start working
on an assignment that isnt due for some time. Try to make a new friend dont wait till someone
approaches you. Write down what you believe is your biggest time-waster. Write down the first
things in your life right now and put them in order of importance. Habit 4 baby steps are
someone who is close to you succeeds in a big way, instead of feeling threatened, feel happy for
that person and compliment them. Think about your key relationships at school, work, and at
home and think if you have a lose-win or win-lose in any of them and what you need to change.
Think of a person who has an Abundance Mentality then write three things down that person
does that others do not. Consider a tough situation you are currently facing that involves another
person and find out a solution. Be nice to everyone you meet for one whole day. Write down a
key deposit can make into another persons Emotional Bank Account. Top three things you could
change that would make you more a likeable person ask someone you trust for feedback. If
someone offended you shock them by treating unkindness with kindness. If you have a friend
that are bringing you down figure out how to exit out the relationship.
Habit 6 baby steps is if you disagree with someone, try taking the steps to a 3rd
Alternative. When you meet someone with a disability or impairment, go out of your way to get

acquainted. Discuss a challenge youre having with a friend or a person you trust then ask for
their insights. If you know anyone that has a background different from you and what to learn
from that person. Brainstorm with your friends to come up with something fun and new this
weekend instead of doing the same routine. What is your biggest barrier to synergy such as ego,
win-lose thinking, prejudice and letting down that barrier. Choose a professor you admire and
would like to get to know and visit that professor sometime this week. Go online and read about
the same topic in three or four publications and explain what is common or different and what
they emphasize. Go online and read about major political or social conflict in the world today
and write a 3rd Alternative solutions to the conflict. Habit 7 baby steps is identify a new talent or
skill you want to develop. For three consecutive days, count how many servings of fruits and
vegetables you eat if youre not getting five or more, adjust your diet. Get a solid eight or nine
hours of sleep and see how you feel the next day. Think of an old friend or family member
youve lost contact with and call or text to tell that youre thinking about them. Go to a museum,
recital, or ethnic restaurant youve never been to before. Go to a religious service youve never
experience before and what did you discover and how did the people, place, and practice affect
your spirit. What is it about the person that inspires you the most. Watch the sunset tonight or get
up early to watch the sun rise. Also, go on a one-on-one outing with a family member.
The Protip for Habit 3 is about how to study for a test and to set up a study schedule and
not cram before a test and study for 10-15 minutes to study ahead and learn how the test will be
formatted to avoid something you didnt expect on the test. Make a reference sheet and to write
key information you need to know. Dont skip breakfast, breakfast will make you fuller so you
wont be hungry. Come prepared bring the supplies you need for a test so dont make excuses to
your professor. Bring a watch to pace yourself and dont spend a lot of time on a question. Work
steadily figure how much time you have left. Dont cheat or else you will fail its better off failing
than getting kicked out for cheating. Work carefully and bubble in the test correctly and
proofread essays and read the entire test. Work to impress try to show the professor you know
something than having no answer. The Protip for Habit 4 is to think critically so appealing to
authority everyone is entitled to an opinion but not all opinions are equal so giving evidence and
data can back up your opinion so people who support something thats true. Critical thinkers are
always on the alert for bias. Cause and Effect having an event happen makes another event
happen. Probability is taking the risk than not doing anything about the situation and could make
the situation problematic. False analogy if you say something is like something else youre using
an analogy. Most real life questions dont have a single correct answer and opinions will differ.
Critical thinking will make you skeptical in a healthy way.
The protip for Habit 6 is How to Read College Textbooks you have to make a plan and
skim through the books read and pay close attention to the headings, the visuals, and anything
that is in bold or italics. Divide the number of pages in the book by the number of days in the
term to arrive the number of pages you must read daily. Go on the internet and find simpler
material that gives you the background you need to understand the more difficult textbook.
Check out videos on YouTube that provide background on that subject. The preview will help
you understand the main points of the book and the issues. Focus as you read watch for
important ideas, which is marked by headings, or obvious signs marked by words that show the
direction the author is going. You skim quickly through the material you already know or
understand easily, but you slow down for difficult material you have to learn. If you dont get it,
backtrack until you get it. Then look up unfamiliar words you dont understand and take notes as

you read and make a column write questions on the left and key ideas to the right. Pace yourself
is to break up your studying throughout the day. Read in short spurts using a timer. Start with 20
minutes at a time and take a 5 minute break. Work for 45 minutes with 15 minute breaks which
increases your reading time through practice. Be studious everyday so you wont be behind on
reading. Take breaks or a nap if you studying more than 3 hours which will help you learn. Dont
sacrifice nightly sleep to study when you get sleep it helps you learn for your brain to consolidate
new information when sleeping. Lastly, the Protip for Habit 7 is how to Manage Your Money
you can make a profit if you want to if you want to be successful financially, you have to earn
more than you spend. If you save something out of every dollar you get, you build a net worth
the money you have minus the money you spend. You will develop the habit of making a profit
and you gradually move toward a positive net worth. You cant spend more than your income for
very long you can save a dollar a month, put it aside. Avoid unnecessary debt because having
debt damages that goal of positive net worth. If you have a credit card, dont charge more than
you can pay off within a month. If you have debt left on the card each month, the bank will
charge you higher interest rates around. If you make minimum payment each month instead of
paying off the entire balance, youll end up paying for things again and again and hurt your
credit rating. The rating is a number that tells people if you can trusted to pay your debts. Make a
budget so youre staying in control of your money and go through your expenses for a week or a
month and figure how much it will take you to live. Make money such as getting a part time job
and increase your income and this helps you learn the process of saving money and saving
money. Find the best terms for a loan and ask whats the interest and how long do you have to
pay it back and what are the payments.

Habit 4 Activity 32
TOUGH SITUATION

HOW WOULD YOU SHOW COURAGE

A friend wants to buy your laptop for half of

the price you listed for.

I would give her the laptop for half of the

price because she might need to do work or
cant afford one so it would be only fair.

A classmate you dont know well wants to

copy the paper you got an A on last term.

I would say no and thats plagiarism and you

could get kicked out of school. You can get
help in the writing center.

A good friend really wants to copy the paper

you got an A on last term

Even though it is a close friend, I would

politely say no and it could cost us to get
kicked out of school and she should be
benefited to go to the writing center.
I would break up with my boyfriend in the
relationship into forcing me to do something
Im not comfortable doing and that I have a
future ahead of me and I still want to
experience life to the fullest.
I would stay inside to study for my test
because that is the main top priority and that
my education comes first and I can have free
time later when I dont have any work to do.

A boyfriend or girlfriend starts pressuring you

to get more physical than you would like.

Someone youre trying to impress invites you

to go out late, but you have a serious test to
take the next morning.

Habit 7 Activity 51
The Spiritual Dimension: Assume that you have a year to live. What legacy would you want to
leave? What would you do to make sure of that legacy?
The legacy I would want to leave is that I was a helpful person and help people who are in
need and donate to charities and that I wanted people to work hard to not be another statistic
and be successful and manage my money wisely and to know that I was open minded and that
women have rights in America and minorities and that we matter and we should come
together. I would want my legacy to be published in history books or have a statue or make a
foundation to help lower class people and have a scholarship for minorities.
