Business statistics assignment :ASCO valve Canada introduces Red Hat Valve
Introduction
Asco valve Canada which is operating from Ontario producing solenoid valves since
1965.Ascos goal to produce a valve that reduces the cost for the customer, operating cost and
power consumption. To attain this they have launched red hat valve in 2005.As result, the power
consumption was just 2watts instead of 17 watts. Asco mainly focused on 1. Better and most
reliable valve2. Reduce usage power and3. Modular design Asco has attained the position they
want .but in order to improve the service they producing high-quality valve and experiment the
valve
Objective of the test
1. Asco wants to find new generation red hat valves durable and reliable.
2. Asco wants to experiment on cost efficiency by conserving energy of the valve
3. Asco wants to experiment on lead time in different products.
This is the main object of this experiment. By this asco want get results of new generation red
hat valve is differ from old red hat valve .
Analysis on durability and reliability with strength:
The analysis is made on different supplier and temperature. The two by three factorial designs is
analyzed using a two-way ANOVA. There are two independent variables, temperature, and
supplier. Temperature has three treatment levels: 23o, 49o, and 68o. The supplier has two
classifications levels: supplier A and supplier B. The dependent variable is the strength of the
valve as measured in psi.
Hypothesis test with supplier:
Ho: there is no significant difference between the valves with supplier
Ha: there is significant difference between the valves with supplier
Hypothesis test with temperature:
Ho: there is no significant difference between the valves with temperature
Ha: there is significant difference between the valve with temperature
Hypothesis test on interaction:
Ho: there is no interaction between the suppliers and temperature
Ha: there is interaction between the suppliers and temperature

For supplier: p-value and Fcritcal is higher than the Fa and alpha. Ho is do not reject it shows
that there is no significant difference between the supplier
For temperature: p-value and f crit is higher than that of the Fb and alpha. Ho does not reject
shows there is no significant difference among the temperature (23, 49,68c)
For interaction: value and fcrit is higher than that of the fab and alpha. Ho does not reject it
shows there is no interaction among the supplier and temperature at the give n alpha.
2. Analysis the cost efficiency by the conserving energy of the valve in a different country.
The data are analyzed using a one-way ANOVA. The independent variable is a country with four
classifications: Canada, Spain, Japan, and the U.S. The dependent variable percentage of energy
saved.

4. Spain and Japan =2.3;5.Spain and US=2.2;6.Japan and US=0.1
Result:
The result shows that Fcal is greater than First and p-value is less than the alpha value .Ho has
rejected this show there is a significant difference in means of the country. Countries Canada and
Spain; Spain and Japan; Spain and US are the countries having the mean difference in them.
3. Analysis of reduction in lead time for different product.
This is a randomized block design. The main independent variable of interest is the type of valve.
The blocking variable was a day of the week.

Result :
Since p-value is greater than alpha and Fcal is less than Fcrit. so Ho does not reject so lead time
for all types of valves is equal.
Case inference:
From three analysis which made to get the detail on the ascos new generation red hat valve
First analysis shows that it have no interaction between the supplier and temperature it gives the
result that they are new improved one with a strength that it show no difference in temperature as
well as with supplier .its appear that they have attained the strength increased .
Second analysis tested for there is a reduction in power consumption through which to reduce
cost .in the test results give that comparing the countries between Canada and Spain :Spain and
Japan and Spain and us its show that there is a significant difference in power consumption of
Spain from other countries are there .
Third analysis shows the lead time in the production of different types of valve .the results are
giving that there is no difference in the lead time between different types of valve .as per given
statement that they reduce the lead time of a different type of valve.
