Evening,

To assist in reporting for tomorrow morning I’ve just dot pointed the
meeting I attended with this evening in the Greenzone. will
be able to discuss point 2 in detail, and be able to talk to her
experience of the below.

1. Case Operations Manager (author) attended the

Greenzone at approximately 2030HRS and was met by Acting Foxtrot Case
Management Team Leader and Behaviour Management Team
Supervisor . Transferee Mr
was in attendance.

2. and delivered message regarding GDD059 Mr Hamid

Kehazaei’s death to utilising a Farsi interpreter.

3. Following this news at approximately 2050HRS the community

leaders from Foxtrot (MEG045 Mr Behrouz Bouchani), Oscar ( Mr
); and Delta ( ) met with
and I.

4. delivered approved messaging regarding the death of

utilising a Farsi interpreter.

5. appeared the most vocal initially. He queried why DIBP

had not delivered the message, and stated that we cannot provide the
answers to the questions they have, which is ‘who will die next’. He
stated he might say good bye tonight and die tomorrow from disease. He
was advised, as per approved messaging, that the condition was not
transferable to others. He appeared the most agitated by the
situation, and stated that we cannot provide them with the support they
need, which is “to stop any more deaths”. He also asked “will IHMS
pay”? Despite this, he maintained composure and shook both stakeholders
hands at the end.

6. also advised that none of the information provided to

them was information they didn’t already have.

7. was the most composed and calm throughout.

8. Questions from the attending community leaders included whether

the machines were ‘switched off’, and what the illness was he died from.

9. Community Leaders present were asked for their input in terms

of how best to deliver the message to other transferees. They advised
that it would be best for “us” (referring to service providers) to tell
them, but only when there is more information to provide them. They did
not see benefit in the approved messaging delivered.

10. It was acknowledged that their mourning process had started, which
they confirmed to be the case, advising “Hamid has been dead for 2 days,
why are you telling us now”.

11. Attending community leaders were encouraged to advise any service

provider if there was any support they would like or need to assist
during the mourning process. They nodded to acknowledge understanding
of this, but did not request anything at that time.

12. It is noted no one from Mike attended this meeting. The reason
for this provided by TSL Security was that transferees were already
aware and were in prayer. (Please note it was later determined that
had heard news of a family members death and therefore did not
attend)

13. The overall sense of the group was that they already knew the
information provided. That they considered him already deceased. All
transferees shook the hands of stakeholders prior to leaving. The mood
was calm upon leaving.
