Americas," document AG/DEC. 79 (XLW-O/l4), which reaf{irms that progress in promoting and
effectively protecting the rights of the indigenous peoples of the Americas is a priority fsr the
Organizaticn of American States;

RECOGNIZING the valuable srrppofr provided by the member states, observer states, the
organ$, agencies, and eatities of the Organization of American Staies for the process withia the
trVorking Croup to Prepare the Draft American Declaration on the Rights of Indigeneus Pecples;
