and Fabrication of Bluetooth Electrocardiogram.
Major Adviser: Asst. Prof. Aryan Paula A. Manalo

The study developed a Bluetooth Electrocardiogram for acquiring electrical

impulses from the heart and displaying it to the computer through wireless
communication of the device and computer via Bluetooth. The device acquires electrical
impulses through electrodes using ECG pads connected to the circuit. The circuit is
composed of an INA 128P which amplifies the acquired signal and eliminates possible
noise. The output of the amplifier passes through a DC filter and low pass filter to
eliminate high frequency signals. The filtered signal is passed through an Analog-toDigital Converter (ADC) which passes the signal to the computer for recording via
Bluetooth. The device will be used by three patients. There will be twelve set-ups on each
patient varying the gain of the instrumentation amplifier and cut off frequency of the lowpass filter. The device will be tested by simultaneously running it with the existing
Electrocardiogram from a hospital or health service. Both the device and the hospitals
ECG will concurrently acquire electrical impulses from the heart. The data gathered from
both devices will be compared by using T-test statistical analysis if there is a significant
difference between the two data.
