What is it to be truly a Malaysian.

Malaysia is a Southern Asian country occupied by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and many
other races. Ever since independence this country created history and along the way we
Malaysian developed cultures which are different from others, we created something special
which defines us as a Malaysian. No matter how some may not want to admit it, but being
Malaysian go real deep into our psyche and define us as the people of this land.- Boey J. 2016.
There are many factors that define a true Malaysian, such as the culture we lives in, the food we
eat, our language and how we communicate with each other regardless of our mother tongue, and
most importantly our diversity.
The culture of Malaysian in my opinion is not so bad, because we Malaysian this
generation strive to improve everyday but we do know how to relax when we need to. If youre a
tourist, you would be amazed by how we Malaysian can eat nonstop 24 hours a day. Although
we need to admit that the Malaysian food isnt getting the recognition by the global that it
deserves it, however CNN Travel state that the combination of Malay, Chinese, Indian cuisines
invading your plate can be quite an addiction. You have been warned.
Unlike from America, people there use English as the main language for communication.
Though we may from different races and cultures, the Malaysian can communicate with each
other with several languages into one sentence. For example, you wanted to call your friend out:
Eh Macha, want to go lepak around the mall then we go yum cha, I belanja today! Dont say me
bo jio. It may seems as we neglected on our own language, but this is one of the factor that
make Malaysian a Malaysian. Being how unique it is, the local calls it Rojak which comes a
food when all the fruits are mixed together with sauce.
The diversity of Malaysian is how we do things in our culture, and how we would share
our culture with others. Some of the Malaysian family member and friends with different
background comes and we understand them, and how we accept them. Through all the tolerance,
acceptance, friendship, and fellowship we learn diversity, and from diversity we teach others
about tolerance, acceptance, friendship, and fellowship. If youre a Malaysian and you read this,
do know that food isnt the only thing we can offer to the world, we offer example of this
diversity. This diversity is what makes us stronger, not as an individual but it makes us stronger
together. There will be times where the peace of Malaysian being threaten, its been threaten
before, its been threaten now, and it will never end. But through back and forth I believe that no
matter what the obstacle is, its every Malaysian responsibility to protect this diversity, as great
man once said Ultimately, were all in the same team.- Barrack Obama, 2016 in the pledges
well-executed transfer power to Trump.
