Grade 4: 4.B.1-2 : Find all factor pairs for a number within 100.

Learning Objectives/Learner Outcomes


The objectives of the lesson and the intended learning outcomes.

The students will be able to determine the factors for a number within 100.
The students will understand what a factor is and its significance.

Assessment (s)
Assessments before, during, and after the lesson.

Before: Teacher will present the question what is a factor? on the SMART Board
and have the students write their guess on the board.
During: Teacher will informally assess students learning during instruction with
questions to see if the material is being learned
After: Students will complete an activity, teacher will use the activity to determine if
material needs to be retaught.

Lesson Procedures
Sequence of events of the lesson elements. Include the before, during, and after. (Opening,
body,conclusion)

Teacher will ask the students what a factor is


Teacher will give students manipulatives and ask how many groups they can break
the manipulatives into (ex: can you break them into groups of 2 with none left over,
what about 3 groups?)
Teacher will provide direct instruction, explaining that the numbers the students
found are called factors
Students will complete online activity finding factors of numbers within 100
Students will work in groups to complete a worksheet assessing their knowledge of
factors
