Founded in 1932 the hospital was taken over by The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in 1942. St Francis Hospital is a
Catholic hospital that was the only faith-based hospital in the upper state of South Carolina at that time. St Francis
Downtown and St Francis Eastside Hospitals are now part of the Bon Secours Health System which is a private, notfor-profit health system. The two facilities have a total of 337-beds with all private acute- care patient rooms. The
Mission of Bon Secours Health System is to bring compassion to health care and to be Good Help to Those in
Need, especially those who are poor and dying. The hospital has earned a national reputation for excellence and
innovation in patient care, outstanding surgical programs and cancer research. St Francis Health System has earned
regional and national recognition for excellence in bariatric surgery, minimally invasive gynecological surgery,

Responsible for all aspects of financial, human, quality functions ensuring an efficient and viable surgical and perioperative departments in collaboration with the VP of Surgery, administration, management and the medical staff.
