The Global Cardboard Challenge

1
Inspired by the short film,Caines Arcade, the Global Cardboard Challenge is a worldwide celebration of
child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. In the month of September, kids are
challenged to create and build using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Then in early October
(on the anniversary of the flash mob that came out to make Caines day in the short film) communities all
around the world will come together and play!

This year LVCP students will participate through a number of classes across subject areas
to make their cardboard creations and showcase them for the entire school to play and
experience on

What is your group making? (don't fill this out until after you've completed/voted on #1 below)

What materials will you need? *Be specific, include sizes.

1. Brainstorm Session: In the box below, write as many things as you can think of from our discussion
that you could make out of cardboard. As a group circle your top three favorite ideas. Vote on the one you
all want to do (or we may decide to do one class-wide theme).

2. Prototype Practice
Using paper, create a model of one or
more of your cardboard design ideas. Try
imagine how each component would
work with the actual size in cardboard
what materials you would need to make
function the way you want.

4. Digital Portfolio Blog

Students must take turns being the camera person for

their group each day and take 10-15 photos of your
group's work in progress. These photos will be uploaded
our group google folder and each student will choose
three images per day to upload to your digital portfolio
