Objective
Work collaboratively with district leadership team and district staff to provide services and support
which will ensure a quality educational program for the districts learners who are eligible for special
education services, based on Federal and State standards and through Research-based best practices.

Support the creation and implementation of special education services on school campuses, in support of
academic and skill development in students with special needs.
Provide support as a liaison between parents, teachers, counselors, nurses, outside agencies and various
District departments.
Provide support as a conflict mediator/problem solver in crisis situations concerning instructional programs,
placement and behaviors of students.
Supervise and coordinate reading program; Mind Play Virtual Reading Coach (MVRC) in the elementary for
Resource students.
Assist with selecting and evaluating contracts for services of speech therapists, occupational therapist,
physical therapist, and nurse services.
Plan coordinate and conduct district-wide and campus-wide events and activities related to special
education.
Audited campuses for compliance and reported to campus staff. Provided support and action plan for
campus staff to meet compliance for TEA audit.
Disseminate information regarding policies and procedures developed by the Department of Special
Education Services.
Provide support to school personnel in order to ensure compliance with local, state and federal special

Attend in-service training in order to maintain current knowledge, understanding and skills appropriate to
job assignment.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for staff, including daily

Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other required documents.
Attend and participate in Special Education Department meetings and serve on committees, as required.

I was assigned to provide support and to ensure that homebound services were provided for students in a
homebound setting.
I assisted with overseeing the Edgewood Transition Training Center for students that have graduated and
are seeking employment skills in this program.
