Officer Interview Summaries - Nathan Hart

Troy Arashiro
Troy is a 4th-year chemical engineer. While hes enthusiastic about chemical
engineering, his career aspirations are rather indeterminate; when he graduates, he hopes to be
employed and to have a more rigorous sleep schedule than he does in the status quo. Troy has
two most embarrassing moments in his life. First, he was boarding down BruinWalk and ate
[expletive] (it should be noted that Troy played this off well because he got up and walked like
nothing happened). Second, while learning to drive, he once stopped in the middle of an
intersection during a yellow light because he was confused. The relative in the car with him
gave him a hard time for it. On a subject matter that is very important to all engineers, Troy
prefers Star Wars to Lord of the Rings because he is more familiar with the former. His favorite
book is Professor Vasilios Manousiouthakis pamphlet because of its thorough explanation of
thermodynamic concepts. A close second-favorite book to Troy is Brave New World by Aldous
Huxley. He thinks Coca Cola is better than Pepsi, and he believes his Harry Potter House is
Gryffindor (although he hasnt taken the Pottermore

quiz yet so this is so not official).

Brian Lui
Brian is a 3rd-year chemical engineer. He is a huge fan of travel; his favorite place hes
visited is Canada, and he claims (maybe jokingly) that hell consider moving there given the
recent political climate. Brians favorite food is sushi. During the course of the interview, Brian
made it clear that favorites are hard, because its difficult for him to pick one answer out of a

variety of options. Nonetheless, his favorite movie is Wall-E and his favorite show is Rick and
Morty. His favorite class in the chemical engineering curriculum is Chemical Engineering 109
with Dr. Panagiotis Christofides. Brian claims hes learned a ton in that class over the time hes
taken it.
