REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE OF MAGNETRON

FOR 2 UNIT S-band RADAR

The Magnetron is a ferromagnetic substance. When replacing the Magnetron, remove
your watch (a watch can be damaged) and remove it by using a non-magnetic screwdriver.

2. Turn OFF the antenna safety switch.

3. Remove 10 Pcs of Hexagonal Head Bolt of port side.

Open cover care about Packing.

4. Remove 11 Pcs of screw of cover.

then take off the cover.

5. Take out the cables.

6.Take out the terminal cover.

7. Remove two pcs of screw.

8. Disconnect of yerow and green cables.

connector.

9.Prepare box driver for 10mm.

10. Remove 6 Pcs of Hexagonal Head Bolt,

and replace Magnetron.

11.Cut the cable for 12cm left with new Magnetron.

12.Install the terminal to the cables.

13. Install the new magnetron.

14. Connect the cable for magnetron

to proper position.

15.Reinstall the terminal cover.

16.Reinstall the cover.

17. Close the cover with match the pin position.

18.Tighten the 10 Pcs of Hexagonal Head Bolt of port side.

19.Turn switch ON the antenna safety switch.

A. Turn on the power of RADAR and check the magnetron heater voltage.
B. Wait for about 30 minutes in the ST-BY state.
C. Repeat ST-BY and TX five times or more, in the short range (0.5mile).
D. Put the radar in the send state in the long range (24miles) and check the magnetron current.
E. Wait for about 30 minutes in the transmiting state.
F. Execute tune initialize in [Menu] -> 1 -> 3:TUNE INITIALIZE.
G. Reset each preset time to 0 in [Menu]->0->4->8:ON TIME, 9:TX TIME.

TUNE INITIALIZE

27. Performance Check. In "[Menu]->

Echo->PM->ON".
Check Performance Circle.
PM Check finish in "[Menu]->Echo->
PM->OFF".

Turn the power off(Display and main breaker).
Keep away Magnetron from Iron.
1.Remove the Cover of the Transceiver Unit.

2.Remove the Protection Cover.

3. Disconnect the cable of Magnetron with

Soldering iron.

Take care of the magnet.

4. Remove 6 Pcs of screw. Replace the Magnetron.
Connect the cable of Magnetron by Soldering iron.
( Record the position of color cable of magnetron
connecting to Pulse Transformer.)

5. The put the magnetron reverse the sequence.

A. Turn the power on.

B. Wait for about 30 minutes in the ST-BY state.
C. ST-BY and TX are repeated five times or more, in the short range (0.5mile).
D. Wait for about 30 minutes in the send state.
E. Execute tune initialize in [Menu] -> 1 -> 3:TUNE INITIALIZE.
F. Reset each preset time to 0 in [Menu]->0->4->8:ON TIME, 9:TX TIME.

TUNE INITIALIZE

6. Performance Check. In "[Menu]->

Echo->PM->ON".
Check Performance Circle.
PM Check finish in "[Menu]->Echo->

Turn the power off.

1.Location : Inside of Antenna Scanner on the fore
mast.

2. Switch off ANT MOTOR SW.

3. Remove 4 Pcs of Hexagonal Head Bolt from the

Stern side.
Open the cover, take care of the packing.

4. Disconnect the cable which is

connected to Performance Monitor.

5. Disconnect the high voltage (500V) cord.

6.Disconnect the cable of PWR Power Circuit Board.

7. Disconnect the cable of Fan Motor.

8. Disconnect the Coaxial cable connector.

9. Disconnect the cable from terminal board.

10. Disconnect the Ground terminal.

11.Remove 2 pcs of bolt, affixed from the transceiver

unit.

12.Remove 2 pcs of bolt, affixed from the

transceiver unit.

13. Take out Transceiver Unit.

14. Carry the trasceiver unit in a safe place

such as wheelhouse.

15. Disconnect the cable of Fan Motor.

16. Turn over the Transceiver Unit.

Remove total 6 Pcs of screw.
Remove Protection Cover.

17. Record the position of color cable of

magnetron connecting to Pulse
Transformer.

18. Disconnect the cable of Magnetron

with Soldering iron.

19. Remove 4 Pcs of screw. Replace the

Magnetron.
Connect the cable of Magnetron by
Soldering iron.

20. To put back reverse the sequence, and the unit

is assembled. Carry it to the fore mast.
Insert and fixed Transceiver Unit by 2 Pcs of bolt.

21. Connect Ground and High Voltage cord.

22. Connect the cable of Fan Motor and PWR Power

citcuit board

23. Connect the Coaxial Cable and cable

of Terminal Board.

24. Take care of the rubber packing.

25. Confirm the rubber packing is correctly in the

ditch.
Close the cover and fixed with 4 Pcs of bolts.

26. ANT MOTOR SW On. Close Cap.

A. Turn the power on.

B. Wait for about 30 minutes in the ST-BY state.
C. ST-BY and TX are repeated five times or more, in the short range (0.5mile).
D. Wait for about 30 minutes in the send state.
E. Execute tune initialize in [Menu] -> 1 -> 3:TUNE INITIALIZE.
F. Reset each preset time to 0 in [Menu]->0->4->8:ON TIME, 9:TX TIME.

27. Performance Check. In "[Menu]->

Echo->PM->ON".
Check Performance Circle.

2. Disconnect the cable from terminal board.

5. Disconnect the Coaxial cable connector.

6. Disconnect the cable from the PCB.

7. Remove 2 pcs of bolt affixed

from the transceiver unit.

8. Disconnect high voltage (500V) cord.

9. Disconnect cable of Fan Motor.

10. Record the position of color cable of

magnetron connecting to Pulse Transformer.

11. Disconnect cable of Magnetron with

Soldering iron.

12. Remove 4 Pcs of screw. Replace the Magnetron.

Connect the cable of Magnetron by Soldering iron.

13. Connect the cable of Fan Motor.

14. To put back the transceiver unit

reverse the sequence.

15, Recover the Transceiver Unit

CAUTION : Gap of Wave Guide connectioin, less
than 1mm.

A. Turn the power on.

B. Wait for about 30 minutes in the ST-BY state.
