Introduction: Today we will review our work with different


types of lines and angles. We are going to go more in depth
with angles and how to create them after we review our
work from Tuesday.

- The worksheet will have 5 questions for each angles
and lines
- I will have sheet on the board and show an example
for each
- Pupils will be given 5 minutes to complete this sheet
- We will mark this sheet as a group (Call on pupils
with seating chart)

What is an angle?
What does it mean to turn
when talking about an
angle?
How do we describe turns
of an angle?

Intro: We are going to discuss a variety of angles and how


they are created. Could someone tell me what he or she
think an angle is? (Call out a pupil based on seating chart).
Angle is the amount of turn between two straight lines that
have a common endpoint.
- How much turn would you say is in a right angle?
- How much turn would you say is in a 60 degree
angle?
Review success criteria
Work through PowerPoint
- What do we know about the total degrees of a circle?
- So where would we end up with 180 degrees if that is
half of 360?
Present worksheet on the board
- Review one example from each section
- Tell pupils they have the rest of the class to work on
it, if they do not finish it, it is homework
- If there are pupils working ahead, they will be given a
sheet to draw their own angles based on turns
