My Meaningful life
The top 3 values that I hold close to me are Compassion, Trustworthiness, and Loyalty. The first
value of compassion is relevant to my life because feeling for others misfortunes and sadness is
something that I automatically do when I see people who are hurting and need comfort, so I try
my best to assist them and make them happier. My second value is trustworthiness because
people can come to me for advice and consultation and my friends know they can trust me with
anything. My third and final top value is loyalty. I would say Im a very loyal person because I
never try to abandon friends and people who are close to me and I tend to stay faithful and
trustworthy to other people. In the future, I see myself graduating from college with a bachelors
degree in History and possibly a minor in either a foreign language or something pertaining to
hsitory. I chose to study history because I have been fascinated in history ever since I was 10 and
it has become something I love to talk to others about and learn more about every day. I would
have to say one of my favorite areas of study in history is military conflicts because I find
everything about the different types of wars very intriguing. History for me has giving me
meaning in life and has directed me this far to pursue a higher education in a university setting
and to continue to learn and grow throughout my whole life.
Its important to have positive emotions in life because it keeps me from staying
pessimistic about everything and it allows me to be a better person. Happiness can be derived
from many things but for me I can become happy from enjoying some hobbies of mine like

watching TV shows and movies, playing videogames, and reading. Hobbies can keep your mind
fixated on something productive and help to relieve stress and anxieties from life in general.
Being with friends makes me happy because surrounding yourself with a group of people who
value your opinions and always are there for you makes things easier in life. I can derive joy and
happiness from helping others and seeing them grow and be successful. I like to see people that
love to learn and can further themselves in their lives.
Engagement can help to focus intensively on only one or two things and can experience a
sense of well-being from that task or situation. I do activities such as weightlifting and playing
games to stimulate and engage my body or my mind to focus on the task at hand and allow
myself to fully immerse myself in the present moment. Socializing helps me to engage with a
community of people and get to know others better through understanding and listening. By
spending time with others and taking the time to understand them, it engages myself to want to
know more about others and how their life is similar or dissimilar than mine. I also engage in
learning and studying what I am passionate about and that is history. Learning about something
new and interesting relating to history peaks my curiosity and I begin to engage my brain and
dedicate my time to understanding that topic or interest.
Positive relationships are key to maintaining happiness and well-being. My relationship
with my family, friends, grandparents, and the world are all similar but different in their own
individual ways. There is a saying that relates to me about all three of these relationships, The
Japanese say you three faces. The first face, you show to the world. The second face, you show
to your close friends, and your family. The third face, you never show anyone. It is the truest
reflection of who you are. whether this is an actual Japanese saying is debatable but the
message is clear. I find this to be somewhat true because we do act differently depending on who

we are with at any given time. The way I communicate to my friends and family is different than
how I communicate to strangers and others in the world I have not met. My relationships differ
between my friends and family in many ways because I can be relaxed around friends and goof
around but with my family I can goof off but it is somewhat restricted.
Establishing a purpose or a meaning of life is essential in keeping not only my sanity but
also to create a general plan and end goal for my life. The meaning of life will apply differently
to everyone as it does to me. I feel like my calling is to incorporate all that I have learned and
studied and use it to benefit the world by helping other people and make their lives better for
themselves and their families. I will inspire others to live a life how they want and can achieve
greatness and do benevolent things along the way by encouraging kindness and acts of
generosity. History plays into this role because from learning about different societies and the
background information of countries, cultures, and way of living; I will be able to use my
knowledge gathered over the years to implement a plan to help people live happier and more
prosperous lives. I will try to find a career in history that coincides with my major so that I can
implement the plans I have for myself. I always enjoy helping people, I feel as if combined with
my love of history and learning I can inspire people to change the world and make it a better
place for all to live.
Accomplishments and achievements can help to add to my life and contribute to my
success as a person and well-being by setting small goals and completing them in a timely
fashion. By accomplishing things for yourself it gives a sense of purpose and self-worth. My top
three character strengths are: 1) Fairness, equity, and justice; 2) Perspective wisdom; 3)
Leadership. This survey is accurate to an extent because I truly believe in fairness and justice and
it is an integral part of any society because without justice and equity there would be anarchy and

unrest. Its important to me that everyone is treated equally under the law and through the eyes of
others; equality is important but so is fairness and impartiality. My second strength was
perspective wisdom, which is the ability to provide wise counsel and advice to others. I consider
this to be one of my valued traits because if I can help someone to better their lives or even assist
them with something that could possibly be troubling them then I am satisfied. My third and
final character strength is leadership. Being a leader and being able to lead people is a skill that
can come naturally to some people. Leadership is something that is earned and respected by the
people wishing to be led in the direction that they think is best, thus great leaders employ
different leadership styles to achieve the necessary goals. In a lot of situations there is times to be
a leader or a follower and not everyone will have the capability to lead others.
