(a)Introduction.
(1)Science,asdefinedbytheNationalAcademyofSciences,isthe"useofevidencetoconstruct
testableexplanationsandpredictionsofnaturalphenomena,aswellastheknowledgegeneratedthrough
thisprocess."
(2)Recurringthemesarepervasiveinsciences,mathematics,andtechnology.Theseideastranscend
disciplinaryboundariesandincludepatterns,cycles,systems,models,andchangeandconstancy.
(3)Thestudyofelementaryscienceincludesplanningandsafelyimplementingclassroomandoutdoor
investigationsusingscientificprocesses,includinginquirymethods,analyzinginformation,making
